PRIESTWOOD SUPERTED
131.5 cm, 6y/o Section B Gelding
131.5 cm, 6y/o Section B Gelding
Ted was bought as a 'project' 2 years ago last May, being carefully and slowly produced ready for a small, competent child to further his career and take this much loved pony to the top in his appropriate classes.
Ted has become part of the family therefore making his sale particularly heart-breaking! I'm 22 and 5'6, his old- fashioned breeding means he is a ‘typical’ quality section B and thus has the bone to carry small adults. He has had many wins to date with myself (Owner/ Prod) in 2010 and a small jockey where he has competed successfully at both BSPS and NPS level. Ted has qualified for numerous classes at both the BSPS winter and summer champs. Some results include Reserve Nov ridden and Champ Rest M&M ridden at Area 12 BSPS Heritage show along with being Champion M&M WHP. 1st and champion Nov plaited WHP (Front cover of Welsh Rider) at the Area 12 BSPS show and reserve champion BSPS Nov WHP at Sunnybank EC . He’s qualified for the NPS Nov Picton B& C ridden, Open Templeton A& B ridden, and Nov WHP for the 2009 and 2010 NPS champs as well as the Brynseinon ridden Section B ridden on numerous occasions. He had a credible 2nd at the NPS Area 25 summer show in a very strong Nov WHP receiving top conformation marks and jumped clear in his first and only Royal International WHP qualifier. He has only contended one RI ridden qualifier where he was 5th at Royal Co. Berkshire 2009 show (judge only had him here as she said he did the best show, but I was too tall for him!!). He also won the NPS Open templeton at the Welsh Championship show. His jockey for the summer season has had a huge amount of success, some results include; 1st Pembs County Show (Ridden Bs), Champion Fishguard (ridden m&m’s), 1st St. Clears (13hd nov WHP), 1st Bridgend Agricultural Show (Ridden Bs, 2nd Open templeton and 1st open m&m WHP) to name a few!!
The classes Ted can compete in is endless, he turns his foot to anything and holds his own in any class. Ted is sure to excel as a Nursery Stakes/ Nov 133cm WHP and M&M WHP, and this is where I believe his future lies. That being said he is still a novice and therefore needs educating with his jumping, however is extremely scopey and will go far. He is an easy going, mannerly and flashy ridden pony and never puts a foot wrong in the ring.
He’s never reared, bolted etc, if anything he’s a bit on the lazy side (until he starts jumping when he comes to life!) Ted is straightforward, calm and mannerly and does NOT require lunging or hardly any working in. He is safe in open spaces, gets galloped in open fields, will go first or last and is happy in company or on his own. He is excellent to clip, shoe, load/ travel, and hack in the heaviest of traffic, and is any parent’s dream of a pony.
Ted is only for sale as I am far too big and too old in order to compete Ted in his appropriate classes. Will only sell to a knowledgeable, experienced, competitive, but most of all loving family home.
