OMG I just can't get the yard smell out of my hair. Since all this rain has been here no matter how much washing and conditioning I just can't get the smell out. Its like it's just impregnated itself in my hair!! Does anyone else have this problem?! I wash my hair everyday, sometimes twice but it won't go. What shampoo's do you use? (it's not horrendous, im just a bit OCD lol!! I just worry other people might be able to smell it. And it only happens in the wet weather!) Please if anyone can recommend a good shampoo to get rid of it then please do. I currently use Vosene and Pantene.

What about trying one of the shampoos that are made for swimmers to get the smell of chlorine out of their hair?

Could it be the vosene? I got some for my daughter (the nit repellent version!!) and it had a strange smell to it and her hair doesn't smell as nice as with other shampoos I normally used on her, dare I say it smells a bit like stale wee Just tried it as nits are rife at school, touch wood we never ever had them, thought the shampoo might help evade them but I threw it out. We've managed 2 years of school without them so far I like herbal essences, hair always smells nice ;D Never tried ketchup yet

Right after two votes for Herbal Essences that's what I'm going to try and I'll throw in some clarifying shampoo for good measure!! Only use Vosene as my partner does, just never bought anything else. I'm sure I'm just paranoid but I don't want to smell like the stables!! As much as I do love my ponies lol!! Like I say I've only really noticed it with all this rain, even my yard boots and jacket seem to be overpoweringly smelly!! Off to the shops for me

Just as an afterthought, could it be your riding hat? Depending on the lining material some really seem to hold on to the sweat smell and consequently seem to make your hair smelly! I found jockey skulls particularly bad for this, I have one of the ventilated hats now and it's much better and sweeter!

Agree with milliesmum, my jockey skull (Charles Owen) is disgusting!! It does have vents, but they don't do much venting......

Alberto balsam conditioner gets the smell of wee and poo out of the ponies tail so I assume it would work on our hair smell of strawberries

Rather not be 4 but hey beggars can't be choosers lol!! Have used the Herbal Essences and it seems to be working although it's not rained since I wrote this thread!! Definitely not my hat as when it's raining I've not been riding as we have bog fields unfortunately and no plush arena Just a rain swamped smelly bog field to help me smell delicious! Got a new moan though lol! Cleaned my Indian leather bridle and did not wear gloves..... Now have black hands as the dye ran all over them!! I sound like a right dirty person from this thread but honestly I'm OCD about being clean!!! Just can't get the bloody stuff off, and I've been scrubbing for two days But I've got to say.... I still love my pony. We are our own worst enemies !!!
