I'm looking for recommendations for a professional backer in North West for a 11.2hh Section A.
As I will not be that close to him I need someone trustworthy, reliable and kind and take their time at the the pace of the pony.
I am not looking for someone who will beat him into submission, strap him down into an outline or generally be rough.
Contacts gratefully received and if personal experiences by PM if you would prefer.
Thanks

Bit big some of these adult jockeys. What about some of these fabulous young riders on horse gossip. ;-) Totally agree, in some cases they are a bit big for such a small boy ;D However, if no one recommends younger riders then there is not a lot I can do! I am not however looking to hand my pony over to a teenager to have a bash at breaking ETA - just read that and it sounds a bit harsh - which is not how I meant it to be, just want to have him broken properly first time and not ruined by someone inexperienced as he is a childs pony

Try Helen and paul starkie - we sent our pony to them as we wanted a child on her back not an adult.....they did a great job Jack qual for Olympia at weekend on his dartmoor

Please dont take offense to this Equine Elegance see it as a little advise, your ponies appear very much behind the vertical and restricted alot by side reins. You may want to readdress your methods.
Starkie family is a good one forgot they were fairly local. :-)

I have to say that when I seen the photos too I recoilled in horror, sorry EE but that is exactly what I am not looking for.

You thought you looked silly at 9 and a half stone on your PBW SHP Stallion why would you put yourself forward to ride a 3 year old 11.2? I never called you crap I offered room for an improvement, all I can see is hanging cheeks, wilkies, tight bungie reins and all your ponies travel overbent in your pictures.

Having read the above I had a loook at your website, and I have a question, how come your results say you've competed as home produced? That would either mean you have never produced/backed/derived an income for a third party, or that you went in the class when you were not eligible?

I recently used Hayley Reynolds.
Our welsh was a very timid pony who has thrived through Hayley's confidence. Hayley kept regular contact and visits were always welcome. When he came home we had a small problem and Hayley dropped everything to come and see us. Based in south Manchester, the travelling was worth the service we recieved.
PM if you require her telephone number.

www.wix.com/lucie1239/equine-eleganceYes the section A you show for a friend and I assume she pays you to do so seen as you require payment for your professional production on your website and previous adverts on HG....... you did enter at Tudor Welsh Bronze Medal Show in a home produced class. That is breaking the rules. What is it with people not accepting constructive criticism these days. Now a can of worms has opened.

Another vote for Sarah Challinor/Parker from me - she's schooled a number of our small ponies and I hope to be sending our young section B to be backed by her next year.

STOP BICKERING!!!!! This thread is not for a slagging match - do it on a PM if you must but not in public. GGGrrrrrrrr!!
Another vote for Sarah Challinor / Parker, All the ponies on her yard really LOVE her! She is so understanding, and takes as much time as they need.

Thanks to everyone who has taken time to reply on here with recommendations and also to those who have sent me PM's - it really is very much appreciated.
With regard to other matters raised, personally I don't see it as bickering! It has been very informative - I might not yet have decided who I will be using, but I sure as hell have decided who I wont!!
Thanks again, and any further recommendations gratefully received

Both my sec A colt and crazy partbred mare were 100% happy, settled , very well looked after with Mel Booth. She is very sensitive to the ponies needs, doesnt rush them and she is great with kids too. Nat Middlemass, Starkies and Sarah Challinor/Parker are all very good too.
