Is it too late to clip for winter shows?

If your horse has started moulting then I would not clip. If still holding onto the winter coat the you should be OK.

It is late, but I'm intending on clipping my horse next weekend, was too cold this weekend. He is grey though, so will never have that shine and I don't intend to show him. He also loses his coat very, very late and will still be a hairy mammoth come June if I left him. Which wouldn't be fair as he's quite a hot boy.

I'm clipping mine this week/weekend (depending on how much time we have). Would have clipped this week but was far too cold! Mine only looses his coat late (May/June!).

Completely depends on the horses... I wouldn't clip my hunter pony now as she already has a summer coat on her face and her legs are moulting like mad as well as her clipped coat! But if yours is hairy and not shifting its coat then go for it ;D

Ours are getting clipped next week, about the same time every year. Definitely not too late. ;D

Hmm, it is quite late but if you have a hairy you might get away with it - especially if you're planning on not getting out until after March. My SHP was fully clipped in October & we were going to clip again in January but her coats pretty good, so we're just taking her neck & under her belly out.
