Sorry I don't agree one rein on a ring is a gag snaffle. The bits in the rule book are only recommended not law. Any-way the nps ss are on the case I for one am not going to judge nps novice classes for fear of being spied on. GOOD!!!!! Then at least we have a fair chance by the judges that DO ahere by the book, and know the correct rules. A rule book is there to be adhered to, so the judges then should ahere to it also and not change the rules, becuase they think they are right. Won't be long then before we see 1st ridden in GAG SNAFFLES!!! then, after all we have seen double bridles in 1st ridden, and then go champion at a Championship Show, so nothing really suprises me now Double bridles used to be very acceptable in M&M first Ridden and any pony who goes well in a snaffle should do the same in a double. Far rather see a pony going well for a kid in a double than a wilkie or a pelham with long cheeks, wouldn't you? There are too many of those around in first ridden classes these days. When is Halnaker Marten going to qualify for Hickstead? He was robbed at HOYS and jumped the best round at Hickstead last year. Lucy rides him brilliantl for Pearl.

A bubble bit is neither a gag or a snaffle.

I was eliminated last season from doing a novice nps worker in a bubble bit. And my pony jumped a lovely clear!

novice whp under puk rules are allowed any bit, this is why it is important to read the rules because between nps, bsps and puk all the rules eligabilaty are different
