Hi does anyone feed this and with what results?
I have been reccomended this and love the idea of it being a complete feed so no need for tons of extra bins.
Do you feed alone or with anything else? What's the cost a bag?
Thanks x

I fed my section b this years ago she lived off a small handful of this and 2 small nets as got fat lumps on her bum, as was hard to keep weight off. So was cheap as chips to feed and I think was about a tenna a bag, because she was a good doer it is hard to say if the feed was successful or not but she did very well off it ;D

To avoid fizziness don't feed starch or sugar, mostly found in feeds as cereal and molasses. Mixes commonly use the latter as a binder to stop all the different bits separating out. Read the bag labels for ingredients, the white ones sewn into the seams of the bags, or ring up to talk to company nutritionists of anything you are interested in. In general think fibre and oil.
I have no experience with Frickers so can't comment on them specifically.

I know of a few friends that used it and sent the ponies crazy! Totally changed their attitude to work etc ... Soon as they came off it they were like different ponies

I used it for a good couple of years till places stopped selling near me. I found it fantastic but you really need to watch the amount you feed of it! Get it right its fab makes them look amazing, but feed to much and they get fat and fizzy very quickly. Otherwise good stuff

ok thanks. maybe not ideal for a highly strung young arab i always check the lables for what im giving. although called "mix" it is meant to be complete, so no extra chop needed as this is present x

I wondered about it too but wasn't able to find out the starch content so decided not to use it.

I used to use this years ago...and it was all I used; one scoop morning and night. I competed alot and because its rich in oil the condition of my pony was fab. He had a super coat and was very fit and heathy. I only added a few supplements as its low in protein and lacks a few minerals and vitamins needed for the old neddies xxx

We have fed it to one of our native ponies for years and it suits him perfectly whilst i would not dream of feeding it to our other native as it winds him up .. very cost-effective feed.. you dont need to feed anything else with it at all .. just a small scoop morning and night fed with plenty of hay/haylage is all that's needed

I fed this to my arab a few years ago. Its very good for weight gain and his coat was fab. It didnt send him silly but then he quite laid back for an arab. But........ it started to make his heels crumble and his chestnuts bleed..... no joke. I have no idea what was in it that made this happen, and loads of people i know fed it and definately did not have this reaction but i did. Actually got the vet as didnt know what was going on and he said he was allergic to sand..... id had this horse 4 years already and he wasnt allergic to sand! The only thing id changed was his feed, so took him off the frickers and surprise, everything went back to normal. Now i know my lad is a tad over sensitive but that was bizarre, i wont be feeding it again lol xx

Used it, loved it...if you have any concerns you could always ring Peter Fricker, I'm sure he would be happy to help... We sell it at Eureka Animal Feeds and it's by far our most asked for complete mix... My sec D looked amazing, Hannah now owns him secdcrazy... You can see photos of him on her avatar ..
Great value, good product, but like everything all horses are different and what works for one may not work for another, basically it's try it and see...:-)

Jim Peet (Agriculture) Ltd sell Frickers Feed in Cumbria.
There is a feed called 'Tiny Tots Topline and Conditioning Cube' which has no fizzing effect just adds condition and shine
We also stock Show and Condition Mix and Balancer
Just thought I would post if anyone is considering using it in the Cumbria area, can be collected from Langwathby near Penrith, or Sandysike, near Longtown.
