I judged this show approx 3 years ago and the committee allowed 2 lead rein competitors to enter my ring late, when I complained about them holding the class up, I was called a bit*h and I asked them to leave my ring. They complained to the committee and I was told to let them back in. I left the show and came home.

Can I ask what may be a silly question??? Why in the heavyweight hunters does it talk about a long, low action with no knee action but not in the lightweights and middleweights?? Genuinly interested if there is a logical reason and happy to stand corrected if Im being an idiot, its been a very long day!!

I have a question about the lead rein m&m - you have age 8 and under, but most shows for m&m is 9. Also the m&m first ridden is 122 and under - usually its 128, and also the age 10 and it is usually age 12. By the way my daughter is well within the age range of these classes, but by putting these heights and ages you may be turning away potential members, just thought i would point it out, it only caught my attention as my daughter has a friend who competes in m&m first ridden but her 10th birthday was in november and her pony is over 122 (but under the usual 128) We may give it a go this year as we aren't too far away, so maybe see all of you there xx

I was in that LR class, shocking behaviour from the competitors I think my little bay pony won a few classes on the LR with my niece under you that day as well as a few with my daughter off the LR

To Hottoddy, I think knee action is irrelevent on anything, because you will see alot of pure arabs have that, also I owned a Friesian/tb small hunter who had been a driving horse with loads of knee action, under saddle we altered the head carriage and it went long and low! To Caren thank you for that, the people in question entered the ring right across the 7th lead rein competitor who was in the middle of the trot round, they just walked right in front of them, yes how dangerous is that!

39 Lead Rein M & M - Mare or Gelding, 4 years old or over, not exceeding 122cms. Riders not to have attained their 8th. Birthday before 1st.January in the current 2009
40 First Ridden M & M - Mare or Gelding 4 years old and over, not exceeding 122cms. Riders not to have attained their 10th. birthday before 1st. January 2009
I agree that this may put people of become members or coming to the show. I do think that you should up the age limited for LR to 9yrs and the FR to 12yrs and up the height Limit to 128cms, this will then coinside with most rules.
It seems like the schedule is excellent with lots of choices. But if you are doing qualifers Equifest and PUK surly the age limits and hioeght limit should reflect those of the qualifers. As PUK is 128cms and not 12yrs before januray in current year for FR M&M and 122cms and not 9yrs before january in the current year.
Also you are saying in the M&M classes the jockey should be a suitable size for then mount, so does the judge have the right to size the jockey on there pony and if they feel the jockey is not suitable will they be refused entry??? because on many occassions jockey do seem to big for there M&M but there is no rule to say they cant ride them Just a question?
Otherwise it looks brillaint and i will certainly be attended.

The committee are aware of the faults in the schedule regarding ages for LR M&M and FR M&M. I noticed the discrepancy when the schedule was posted on another forum & it has been corrected on there & probably not on here

Jeepers - that's a massive schedule for such a tiny club. Hope they've got LOADS more space than there used to be. It was positively dangerous trying to get out of your trailer or across to the rings, and all the boxes had to be double parked up aganst the ringsides. No room to tie up between boxes either All that will be going on in about 2 acres INCLUDING WAGON PARKING and SJ unless they can provide a hell of a lot more fields this year. So IMO not the best for safety on those grounds

i di suggest having the jumping on another day however it means all the committee giving up another day.
not sure off putting if you have been since the new rings (on the all weather) have been opened.
i reiterate there has been a huge shake up of th committee for various reasons.
We were majorly let down at one point but sure some who have judged their this season can say how much facilities for the judges have improved. I recall this season I lovely spread put on for judges. I know Hannah puts a lot of time into keeping the judges happy. Before this years aintree I know the judges had a night out.
Some of the comments from judges on here make me wonder if previous years are the reason we had some trouble with judges in recent years. I had lots of trouble in 2007 and I know Hannah had trouble in 2008. Including all judges cancelling on the last day!
All you judges please give the new committee a chance to show you its a lovely club.

We have been members for the past few years and will be there again this season. New outdoor arena with a lovely surface has greatly improved the number of rings and amount of space available. I'm not on the committee but know that the new committee members have been working hard to put past troubles behind them. Looking forward to the season

I know there have been mistakes made in the past but we have learned from them & with the new members we are all giving it 110% to make it work & want to concentrate on the future of the club. We want this season to be positive & we would love to see lots of new faces at our first show & you will see Brookhead is a friendly, fun, well organised riding club show! ;D Hope to see you all there ;D

Thanks Hannah xx
