Re hats - you need to check the relevant society rules
- all numbers were posted out - if you haven't received you need to call the show secretaries - their numbers are on the NCPA Derbyshire website

Quick timetable query, with the HOYS M&M's being in two rings, the smalls breeds have a not before 12 start time but will the small breeds still start if the large breed classes have not finished?

The Small breed HOYS M&M Ridden classes will start at 12 noon as per the timetable as there are different judges doing the two sections, each with their own championship, thanks.

Hoys hunter classes.... Are we ok to wear our beaglers and bowlers in ladies?? Yes, this is a HOYS class and run under HOYS rules. It is only if the showground has a rule over riding HOYS rules that you have to wear a safety harness. I am 99.9% certain that Derbyshire Festival show allow you to ride in traditional beagle/bowler

Hi, just seen the weather forecast and its meant to be thunderstorms all weekend, what is the chance of it being cancelled? And if so, what would the chances of the hoys qualifiers being run elsewhere or run at a later date at the same venue? As im doing the m&m hoys workers, it would be a pity to see them cancelled and not run at a later date, the m&m workers have few enough qualifiers as it is. Flipping weather!!!! When will the decision be made if it will run or not?

2 years ago the in hand classes ran on the surfaces and the other classes were rescheduled for beginning of september.
Hopefully it will run but somerford are sometimes quite cautious with their ground as it is used for so many events they can't give it months to recover like some county shows can.

So if cancelled they may re arrange? Totally understand that somerford are cautious about the ground. I'll be gutted if they cancel completely as the course really suits my pony

I am on the committee for NCPA Derbyshire and please can people STOP worrying about the weather - it is out of our control The show is still on for the weekend - The forecast in Cheshire for the coming days has given sunny spells and light showers The last thing we want to do is postpone the show again like in 2012 And please note NO LATE ENTRIES - NO ENTRIES ON THE DAY - AND ALL NUMBERS HAVE BEEN POSTED OUT, THERE ARE NONE TO BE COLLECTED ON THE DAY - IF YOU HAVENT RECIEVED THEM PLEASE CONTACT PAM OR BILLIE - www.ncpa-derbys.co.uk/contact.html

I understand the weather is out of control, but I can't help but worry seeing as my class is the last worker class of the show and I can't see how two days of dryer weather will prevent the ground from being boggy. All im worried about are ponies slipping over whilst jumping on slippy ground that I don't think will hold up after two days of jumping on it:/

In fairness, whilst somerford are careful with their ground, they are also one of the best at preparing it and continuously invest in keeping things up to scratch.
Whilst the weather is out of our control, if I was jumping anywhere in bad weather, I'd choose somerford over anywhere else.

I also thought that it would be wise to cancel tommorow in order to save the ground for Sunday?

Why would you cancel a show as big as this based on a weather forecast that hasn't happened yet and with the weather so changeable in this country? The rain forecast for last night hasn't happened here and its dry so far this morning. Good luck to everyone, have a great weekend

It's not all about the horse of the year show qualifiers for some people. I'm taking my 4 year old today, how is she going to get the experience if we cancelled normal classes all the time Just to have the HOYS. There would never be any new ponies and horses on the circuit if we did that all the time.

I understand the cancelling of the Saturday query... I've heard from show secretary's it's hard to keep the hoys qualifiers for next year if they have to cancel etc...
