Famine occurs in our house when we go to a show , we had a roast dinner today as I won't have time Sunday as at a show . Still have to come back and cook something though whatever time we get back . Tried leaving a dinner plated up for him to heat up in the microwave but he didn't heat it up properly and then complained the mash was hard .

Happens here too, you're so not alone!!! Other side of it is he assumes as we are late we will have eaten (no I can't cook dinner while driving a 7.5 ton lorry much as I'm a great multi Tasker) so he does his own but doesn't do any for anyone else.

more likely for a lovely cooked meal to be ready to dish up when I get home than not so wont swap him for a different model he even peels the potatoes every time as I am allergic to the starch he peels any fruit too as I am also latex allergic so cant touch the pith of fruit. Quick meals in this house are wraps with stir fried chicken and salad with cheese grated over and sweet chilli sauce takes less than five minute if the chicken is in small chunks

Sorry ladies but all I can say is "try before you buy!" My beloved can do a roast, has a cup of tea waiting for me when I get home, turns out a plain but good meal when requested, will willingly act as sou chef without being asked. On top of that is capable of operating a vacuum cleaner, washing machine and will even clean the toilet He weeds, cuts the grass and decorates, maintains the buildings My paragon of virtues is a definite one off and is no longer on the market

I shouldn't complain really either as mine does all the odd jobs , trailer maintenance and car repairs . Just drives me mad that he won't even get himself a sandwich as he is diabetic so needs to eat regular meals . So I always make sure and leave a supply of sandwiches in the fridge when we go to a show .

My other half is a far better cook than me, he does most of the cooking. We take turn about on a Sunday and today he made a lemon meringue pie for pudding from scratch, he also makes amazing profiteroles.
