My mare was doing this, and we believe it was because she wasn't eating enough when away at shows for the day or even longer, she's usually fed hay at home when in, and on very good grass, we switched her to equilage for travelling & at shows as she devoured it, also added thirst quenchers to her water, so she would drink more, it has helped a lot.

We've had the same problem. We found feeding Ready Mash or Fast Fibre helps, it provides lots of bulk without too much protein, we find it helps keep them full, well hydrated and occupied.
Good Luck with your show

Fairly sloshy soaked sugar beet (unmolassed for me) used to be a standard suggestion. Lots of fibre and water, and normally very well accepted by the horse.

Any ideas to help me?!?! Thanks in advance!!!! We had the same problem and solved it by making sure pony was hydrated and we supplemented electrolytes starting 3 - 4 days before the show and through the duration of the show. Also, strange I know, but ear plugs really helped to keep him calm whilst travelling. Don't forget to take them out when you get to the venue though!!
