I have used several types of hoof boots, the one I disliked the the most was the BOA, found them heavy, clumsy and difficult to keep on. The EasyBoots are generally good, I have used the Epic and Grip (for slippy conditions) but the best I have found are the Easy boot Glove, but you have to get the fit right and snug. My friend uses the Cavallo Simple boots all the time for hacking and loves them. I haven't used any of the newer versions of hoof boots as after several years of using them (and correct diet) the horse (who at one time was very sensitive and lame on grass barefoot) is now able to be ridden barefoot comfortably on most terrain . I think the most important thing with any hoof boot is to get the fit right, they work out much cheaper than shoes in the long run.

I've used 'Old Mac's' and found them to perform well and the cheaper 'Equi-Boot' which weren't quite so good.
As 'truegrit' above has said finding the right fit is the key to success with hoofboots. you need to choose the boot according to the shape of the hoof. Visit some sites online and find out which boots are likely to fit your horse the best.
