I recently bought my 2nd vw lt35 I love these little lorries now I'm a little baffled an average Leyland daf 7.5t of similar age is £165 tax per year yet my little 3.5t is over 220 even 6 months is £125?? It's down as a plg is this right or does its tax classification need changing? Just don't understand why double the weight is cheaper??

I think it might be the difference between being a standard van and being a lorry there are vehicle classifications and I think bands within those
My 1.4 Bipper van is classed as a van with tax over £200, a virtually identical vehicle with back seats would be classed as a car and £30 tax
So in short I think the lt35 will be seen as a van not a lorry

^^correct. Anything over 3.5t becomes subject to LGV tax, which is cheaper. It's the only thing that is cheaper mind!
