I've just bought my first palomino baby and rather excited for the future just curious she has been bought with the aim to compete her eventually in British dressage however in meantime I'll be doing sport horse classes though she will be of correct type build to be a riding horse however not a colour you'd regularly see in a line up but I'd be intrested to know if her colour would go against her

Good luck with her, being palomino will catch the judges eye as you say not many palominos in the classes but a good judge should not be biased by her colour

I was always taught a good horse is never a bad colour, and that a good judge imagines every horse before them is the same colour eg bay. X
