M&M lead rein was won by a grey, sorry forgot the name. Huge class forward, think 39, nose to tale in the ring, made two line ups and no idea how they could judge. A lovely grey won, was pulled first after the go around and stayed there. Agree with delbel re the m and m first ridden. The winner was pulled in first and did a very nice show. After that mistake after mistake. The little shetland who went last went amazingly and the little girl on top had the biggest smile i have seen on anyone's face all day. She did very well and rightly brought up to second, and arguably could have gone first. No idea who she was but she should have been very proud today. There was also a lovely section b who placed fourth with a very small little boy on top and also gave a lovely show. There were 13 in the line up and apart from the aforementioned there were alot of mistakes and not what i would have expected at yorkshire. Shame. The little lead rein look champion and the first ridden reserve. The sec B who was 4th was Milford Mayfair. He has had amazing success with an older jockey, including 2nd at HOYS but shows his true worth in that he can carry a tiny young jockey safely in such a big class.

thanks kayjakem, he certainly looked after his little jockey and not surprised about his previously successes. I think there will be many more to come. he initially caught my eye when the judge asked the line up to move back and unlike all the other competitors who turned round to move back, his little rider merely reined him back into position.

Think there was only mine not forward in the M&M LR class and although the judge would have loved her from what she chose I was actually glad we didn't get her there as the class was far too big for the ring. They couldn't even walk round continuously as there were too many in. I hope other people will write to the GYS to ask for it to be moved back into the main ring or at least the White rose ring. Pleased to see the dartie that was next to last to go pulled up to third. Was well deserved, winner was a lovely pony, were a couple I'd have had higher but wouldn't take anything away from anyone in that class today.

Thank you Philippa about the lovely comment regarding my Dartmoor pony, Pumphill Clarion. We did not expect anything yesterday. It was his 4th show with us and firstever GYS so my daughter and Teddy are a new combination. We were all over the moon and very teary eyed. Thought he would be fed up by the time he had to do his show after such a long wait but he did me proud. Thankfully Teddy didnt create with the crackly speaker but yes far foo many ponies in such a small ring. They were in there over 2 hrs in such hot conditions and I think all kids and ponies did amazingly well just to put up with that. Definitely needs to be changed next year.

I was absolutely appalled at the number of ponies squashed into that tiny ring. The judge didn't even watch all the shows or wait for the tinies to salute!!! Most important bit to any little jock . At £60 a class it shouldn't be rushed or shows not watched! Lots of ponies lost due to sheer amount of ponies! Was an accident waiting to happen. Never mind kiddies being sat in blistering heat for 2hrs!!!! Shambles

the ridings ring is not even suitable for in hand classes when there were 22 highlands conis and new forest entered including stallions with a collecting ring among the public they are just asking for an accident. There is no running out room and people stop entering just because of the ring
