Jessica, im ashamed of you haha so glad I didn't go for workers. Judging sounded awful. Although love the 15hh that won!! I am very surprised you heard that 'the judging in the whp was awful'. Although I didn't have any ponies in the whp classes, I sat and watched all four classes and thought the judging was spot on. All the winners were well known established ponies apart from the 14 hander which I hadn't seen before but he was a very worthy winner and went champion after jumping a cracking round over a real riders course which wasn't producing many clears. Congratulations to the Judges and all the winners.

It may be a working hunter class so you would think that a clear should be above pole but at the end of the day its a showing class and a pole is 10 marks which can be easily made up in other areas. And poles can be easily rolled by a pony that was jumping a lovely fluent round. Id rather see a pole out with a fluent round than a clear jumping sticky
I cant comment on judging yesterday as wasnt there just the whole pole out thing frustrates me Ive been on both side of it winning a class above clears then also have been the one below a pole out when I went clear

I cannot comment on the marks as I didn't see them, but I just thought showpony14's remark about the judging being awful was quite a rude remark towards the judges and the prize winners considering that they say they were not there. The final line up of ponies looked very good to me from an outsiders point of view.

I to have been on both sides with regard to the whp comments, however i for one was glad to see a conformation judge really using her marks as they were designed not lumping everything with a similar mark, i thought she was fair, knew exactly what she wanted and where and was simply direct with her instructions. Her show marks were easily followed those with good ones were well rewarded (Several 10's across the classes for shows and down to 1 ) and mistakes were costly, as for her conformation marks again they were her opinion on the day but she used the full range at her discretion and not every judge can like every pony (however much we love our own ). I thought the judging was fair and yes galling for those clears, but the two not placed clears were similar types and maybe just not the judges cup of tea on that day, and yes 10 marks can actually be quite easily be made up in the remaining 50 marks left to play with after the 50 allocated for a clear. (just my opinion)

Sounds a good place to qualify if only 5 in a class for a hoys qualifier , but how unlucky for the kiddy that thought she had qualified, my heart goes out to her ☺️
