My mother used to have some fantastic wraps that you dunked in a bucket of water and they became cold. Does anyone know what they might have been or suitable alternatives, please?

They sound very usefull. At the moment I am just cold bandaging mine as the ground is so hard. I put a gamgee and bandage (none elasticated) into a bucket of water and then put them on the horses at night & take them off in the morning.

didnt like P E ones... they were gel and it came out every time I used them ... these are the best I have found... tested them repeatedly on a stand on a very hot day at burghley and bought a set! equinefitness.co.uk/stay-cold-boots-c22.html

www.premierequine.co.uk/PBSCCatalog.asp?CatID=2015819Don't think the cold water boots are gel (or at least not the ones we have got - top ones in the link). Certainly no gel has ever comes out of ours and we have used them for over a year, dunking them in a bucket of water an hour before use.

didnt like P E ones... they were gel and it came out every time I used them ... i had this problem too, it was apparently a faulty batch.....so they sent me some more......which did the same! im now on my third pair and havent really tested them as horse i use them for has been off work, i did soak them in the sink and they seemed ok but will reserve judgement until ive actually used them on a horse !

They are super tough and last forever, mine are now about 7 years old and still look and work as good as new. From a company that are extremely knowledgeable and that does some really fantastic products other than the boots. You will never regret buying these.
