Basically as the title states im wondering if any one has a saddle that they do both in im looking for something to do the working hunter in but needs to have bigger knee rolls than the standard working hunter saddles offer when jumping the bigger courses. However im concerned what ever i get may be too forward cut for the flat classes. and may cover the shoulder. Does anyone have a saddle they do both in or do people tend to have a saddle for both disciplines? I currently have a Brown Farrington but dont feel as secure in it as i have in previous saddles jumping such as the jefferies hawk.

Tricky. The bigger the block on a straight cut saddle the LESS room there is for your knee and the less support you get if you shorten your storrups significantly. Your knee ends up pushing out away from the horse, whereas with a small block if your knees come over the front then at least you're still on the horse. When I go out to a fitting where the rider is doing more WH than flat, or flat is not such a high level, and especially if they have a long leg, I'll take our very neat flat seated GP saddles as another option as our WH saddles are straight cut. So it may be worth seeking out neat GP saddles, possibly VSD, but the latter tend to have a slightly deeper seat and therefore can look too much saddle on the top line.
