My dales has coffin joint arthritis and the vets put him on synequin. It did work but due to the expense I decided to try a different one with the vets agreement BUT after trying a cheaper one I went straight back to synequin and can honestly say I haven't looked back. The physio came recently and said if she didn't know he had arthritis she would not have guessed said his joints were fantastic. It is expensive but well worth it u can get it from viovet for £119. It doesn't work out too bad once the loading period is over.

Another vote for Synequin. I have used it for a horse who was also diagnosed with DJD and I feel it did wonders for him. Also used on another horse with sidebone and I feel it has helped him too.
I use the dog version for my 15 year old JRT who I also feel reaps the benefits of Synequin
The insurance company will pay out for Synequin if you are going down that route
