I have a shetland who is 8yrs old diagnosed with high liver enzymes, she's become slow, lethargic, not drinking much. Typically she has been diagnosed with laminitis!! I knew this wasn't the case and had watched her go downhill for about 18 months after several vet visits laminitis was all they come up with, so I decided bloods were needed! So after spending out on lami products and no improvement, I'm now feeding a low protein, low oil diet, milk thistle, with turnout. Her legs fill when stood in and she is still and unable to walk in the mornings until she gets out & moving then she's fine in her paddock. I'm awaiting results of more bloods so hopefully can find the reason behind this! I'm so devastated, any one give any more advice?

Referral to a top class horspital if you haven't already? I know it's possible to work on liver disease these days.
