Due to medical reasons, my mare is now semi-retired (only going out on walks a few times a week with an occasional trot for about 20 minutes) and now that winter's coming up, I'm not sure what to feed her.
She's 13 years old, an Irish Sports horse but a very good do-er, and lives out all year round with rugs in the winter. We also think she may have some cob in her?
Anyway, during the winter, she will drop weight if not fed a little extra, so I need a feed that will give her the fat/ vitamins she needs without making her too fizzy. She's currently not on anything as she does fine on just grass and a handful of treats.
Any ideas?

Think fibre and oil, with a balancer for essential micronutrients. Have a chat with some of the feed company nutritionists for suggestions, Top Spec are good and they make a cereal grain free conditioning cube which might suit your purpose. Avoid sugar and starch and read the white labels sewn into the feedbag seam of anything you feed - these list the full ingredients of the feed by law.

My semi retired warmblood lived on Alfa a oil and a balancer. He only came in during really bad weather. I had to cut costs do cut out the balancer from around April to October.
