Sorry if this is in the wrong place, I'm just trying to work out my memberships for next season
I want to compete at the bsps champs and will be doing a handful of HOYS qualifiers,so i understand i ideally need to be a member of the BSPS, do my horses (will be in heritage sections) also need to be members or are they ok to be just registered with WPCS?
I also need to be a member of NPS to compete in the RI worker qualifiers i understand, is that owner & horse also?
Thanks

If you join Bsps you can do RI/Hoys/Olympia qualifiers and the Bsps champs. If you are home produced you can do the Bsps pretty Polly classes also...You will need to register yourself and your horse with Bsps. All the forms are online (costs approximately £75) your pony needs to be registered with its relevant breed society and the Bsps usually ask to see your passport.
TSR is the cheapest membership and it is only £25 I think for horse and rider to join. If you are a TSR member you can compete in Hoys qualifiers held by other societies but not RI/Olympia qualifiers... TSR also have loads of other classes at their 2 championship shows. (Details on the showing register website) There's also PUK membership which have amateur riders RI qualifiers
Hope this helps! It's all very confusing isn't it!!x

Sundance20 - all the above re BSPS (ie this covers you to compete in all HOYS, RIHS & Olympia qualifiers), but you also need NPS membership for the RIHS M&M WHP

For any Society you and your horse must be registered and also with the breed Society too. Looking at what you want to compete in you are going to have to be BSPS & NPS. Although if you look on TSR website they have a guide to which Societies (or they will email it you)

For nps only the owner must be a member! Your horse doesn't need to be!

Ah i see! I was hoping i had done it wrong and would be able to just register me with them both being registered with WPCS, ah well i will just save up a little bit more! If i didn't want to do the champs shows i would just register with NPS so then i had everything covered but i really enjoyed winter champs last year!

We will email out our guide to showing championships for all societies if you e mail in to the office theshowingregister@yahoo.co.uk we gave it out free in our show pack at HOYS. TSR membership : Adult and pony / horse is £20 or Adult / junior rider and pony also only £20 but no good for RIHS at the moment !
