Which one won the concours class? The one wearing jodhpurs of course! Have I missed the point about what a concours class is?

Concours riders are allowed to wear traditional dress, yes they have jazzed it up a little with the sash and headband, but they look elegant, which is ultimately the aim of the concours.

The one in jodhpurs won, the other one was given a rosette for best turned out, which was supposed to be run as a seperate class with other entries from other age group concours classes. 2 entry fees were paid, for 2 seperate class numbers/names. The judge didn't run the classes as per the schedule and one little boy lost out doing his class because the judge did this. He did get his entry fee refunded, but was obviously disappointed having waited 6 hours to do the class.

I explained in my previous post, the grey horse did not win the concours class, he was given a rosette in the class for best turned out (which should have been run as a sepeare class but that's not the point of my initial post). The other horse 'won' the class. I didn't choose to identify anyone in the class, or bring the horse and hound forum post to this board, I didn't even know about it. Someone else has brought it here, who seems to want to cause trouble, and I am quite happy to say who I am, are you? The grey horse is owned by daughter, who is an adult, I'm not responsible for what she says or writes.
The point of my initial post was that I was surprised to see an entry in a concours class, that wasn't dressed up in a skirt/dress/ I have never seen anyone in a concours class, wearing jodhpurs/jacket etc that they wear in normal showing classes. Other people have posted and said this is acceptable, which is fine and I appreciate their contributions. I spent a lot of time researching concours classes and looking at photos from events online, to make costumes, and I've never seen anyone in jodhpurs before in such a class. There's no great conspiracy, it is as simple as that.

I'm not reading it as a conspiracy I just don't know who won.
Did your daughter write the H&H post??? Have you read it??? It clearly states the grey horse won so it's just a bit confusing

Nope, it's there in black and white in your H&H link:
" Role on 6.30pm when we finally get in our first class!!! We did the Concours D'Elegance to which we won and he behaved beautifully!"

My horses did indeed win what I would normally deem as Concours - the Turnout. The other horse won the ride section. The judge judged the class as 2 seperate things in 1 - a performance class and a turnout class. I have no quibbles about the other horse winning the ride part as it did perform very nicely.
We don't have many Concours classes in Scotland and this is only the 2nd one we have done - hence never seeing evening wear worn although I have seen it being worn down South.

Which is correct. The grey horse WON best turned out.
The owner has explained above that she believed the Concours part to relate to turn out, which she did win.
If you read the HHO thread you can see very clearly that the owner does not do a lot of showing - give her a break and let her enjoy her result

Hang on a minute - one post said the grey horse won. Another post said the other horse won. People were confused and wanted clarification.

And we'll done on winning the turnout part. You deserved it. There was just a bit of confusion as to the results initially.

Well even with the extra hours sleep I am no wiser unless Muggles is the rider on the grey and the coloured, as each says they won the turnout but praised the other for winning the ride section? Eh? H & H is even more confusing.....

Concours D'Elegance involves the overall picture of elegance of horse and rider, performance IS considered as there is no point in wearing a full concours costume with long skirt if the horse or pony will not tolerate it/rides badly in it ... for example, would it look elegant if a horse bolted across a ring in a concours class? No, it wouldnt. Concours is not simply a turnout class unless of course that is how that particular show listed it on the show schedule therein causing confusion
Good luck in future concours classes m'dear
