Oh heck it's a massively busy 2 weeks for us. Halifax, 2 agriculturals, west yorks WPCS & bakewell already in the first 2 weeks of August. Think I've missed something else. I'm sure there's 6 shows in 2 weeks!!!

They were originally going for the weekend after this one but now changed it to run over these 3 days. It'll also clash with the fell breed show but might be able to both depending on which classes on which days. Good to see it back Lancashire definitely should have its own county show

Sorry Kateanne0 I was at work so in a bit of a rush when I was typing. It's really good news that they are managing 3 days for the first year back. The show was originally run over 3 days in July and hopefully can return to what it was then. I have to say that Astley park, Chorley was a brilliant venue, just off the motorway and so easy to get to. I only went to Salesbury Hall once and I remember queuing for ages to get in so will plan to get there early if we manage to go

Salesbury Hall and we missed our class after queuing on a long, windy, narrow, country lane with hundreds of other vehicles for a couple of hours and was livid as they actually held the class before the stated time hence won't be going again unless things change drastically .. another vote for Astley Park here

If I recall and forgive me if I am wrong they had a one way system at Ribchester to begin with where competitors and public all came in down one road. I couldn't understand the reasoning as though it would have been better to have wagons coming in one way and public the other for the start of the show. (I might be wrong, I used to steward at the RL so was always there really early so missed much all the queues and upsets Astley Park was no big enough although a lovely venue and there was also a queue issue. (I would love it to be there as for me its far easier to get to) The wagons had to drive straight through the whole ground and public areas and I remember one particular year wagons nose to tail through the showground and out onto the road with people wanting to unload where they were as they were late for their classes...it was a roasting hot day and a nightmare. I think if good consideration is given to the traffic management things should be okay at Ribchester, but classes going before time is well out of order! Its new people organising and I am sure they will read all the comments and take them on board. Perhaps this time the Royal Lancs will grow and final find a home somewhere, it would be nice for it to have a real home of its own rather than roaming from place to place. I sure a permanent venue in a decent central place would be well used for other events and activities.

Not every one uses Facebook, I certainly don't so it would be a good idea to put details on Horse Gossip as well. Thank you in advance
