Two seasons ago I purchased lister legend clippers, the first season they clipped fantastic, the second I noticed them becoming hot quite quickly .I sent them back to manufacturers and they replaced a part and sent them home,, I've used them only twice this season and had to change blades after doing one side of a horse as they become to hot in my eyes to be clipping sensitive parts of an animal,,,, I have blades sharpened regular and have a services at the end of each season , oil every 5 to 10 min whilst clipping and managed to do a full clip on a 12 HH in under half an hour head to toe so I don't waste time clipping thin air either ,,,,,anyone else have same problems ?? I've also played with tension and I know the noise !!

in my experience it is best to lubricate with proper clipper oil , i have in the past used WD 40 , and 3 in 1 oil , and both heated up the blades , just a thought !!!

I've used proper oil, I don't buy wd40, I went to clip and forgot my oil and used there wd40 and it makes no difference at all, a friend of mine can clip 5 horses in one day and her clippers don't even get warm ,,, wondering if it's a lister problem or just my clippers that are faulty ?

Do your clippers have filters on front and back ? My Listers do, if so Unscrew them and clean them. Should stop them getting hot.
