Under EU rules it is illegal to bury horse , however the UK still regard them as pets , therefore you can still bury them you have to make sure that you are a certain distance from a running water course , but other than that it IS still legal to bury horses !!! That's good to know cos we've buried them before too.

Why don't you contact the vet to get prices. Recently had one small filly pts after she broke her leg and the vet charged £250!!Somewhat shocked but I had to pay up. She was then removed for £150.Normally the Knacker lady does it all for £200 and she is fantastic. Its not an easy day but you come to terms with it and you have helped the horse you loved to go quickly. Not sure where all these good folks find a digger from! x

we're very lucky we have a local farmer who has a digger , and although he doesnt like doing our burials , he does it because he is a very good neighbour , and when we know that this situation maybe on the cards , we pre warn him , and he will drop everthing to help us out
