Hi everyone, just wondered what people's views were on a horse being freeze marked on it's shoulder and being shown at county level. Basically we have been offered a horse which is a half brother to our large hack and he's got the potential to be a top class riding horse, however the lady who owns him has had him since a foal and has had him freeze marked on his shoulder (she's not into showing and has only ever hacked him about, he's now 5) and for us we would normally not entertain anything with a freeze mark on its shoulder for the level we show at, but I was just wondering what peoples views were on it and whether covering it up a bit so it's not smack bang in your face would be deemed acceptable? I've been trying to think of any horses shown at top level with a freeze mark like this that have done well but to be honest I've never really noticed any Edited to add, any judges out there as well, your thoughts on this would be much appreciated as well.

We had a pony who had one on his neck- he went on to win at HOYS! Was it visible on him ie. a plaited or hogged or was he a native and it hidden under is mane?

Shouldn't be a problem - if good enough will win and if good enough and doesn't win that would be noticed and commented on!

Intelligent judges should not be a problem. A freezemark is not s conformation fault nor is it a blemish it is there for a reason. It should not be masked by make up in the ring.

It shouldnt matter but if judges mark the horse down supreme products do a cover magic for horse colours to cover up white hairs and blemishes
