I've used honey heal in the past, more or less fully healed in 48hrs if kept the horse is kept in and dry. Wash and dry heals well then plaster with the sticky honey heal, it drys chalky and sticks to the wound. Re-apply after 2/3 days if you need to. This stuff is great for anything, I've even used it on myself after after a bad horse fly bite lol..

Honey heal: redhorseproducts.com/shop-2/healing-products/honeyheal/Manuka honey can be bought locally but the benefit if honey heal is that it has zinc oxide (active ingredient in sudocrem) and aloe vera (excellent at encouraging skin to regrow) added. Sent from my GT-I9195 using proboards

I used to use sudocreme but last year changed to germolene or Savlon as they are less sticky than Sudocreme. Both seem to work well and are relatively cheap However, when they've had cracked heels once you've got to keep ahead of it and check every day all year so that you can treat as soon as you feel a tiny bit of it and stop it developing.

Aqueous cream rubbed in to cracks and a small amount of keratex mud sheild. This has worked on my cob who has suffered with cracked heels. I also wash legs in muneka honey shampoo and a dog shampoo called seleen once a week.
