I have never been hunting before but would like to have a go, does anyone know of any newcomer meetings coming up??
How long are the meetings normally??
Any advice on which hunt is the best in the North West would be greatly appreciated. :-)

Depends where you are in the north west. We hunt with Cheshire Bloodhounds, my 11yo daughter on her pony, I'm a car/foot follower. They're a really friendly group, mainly hunting country south of Warrington. We have occasional children & beginners meets - we had one a couple of weeks ago where the hunt went over a local farm ride, so loads of children & beginner friendly jumps, as well as more traditional rails and hedges. The children & beginners hunts tend to be bigger, and with more people who don't necessarily understand the etiquette to follow - I think we had about 105 riders in the field at the last children & beginners meet, while numbers are limited on normal hunts! We have first timers along most weeks - you don't have to wait for a beginner's hunt. All jumps are optional every week - there is a Field Master dedicated to looking after non-jumpers on every hunt, so there's always someone to show you the way around. Hunts typically last about 2-3 hours. www.cheshirebloodhounds.co,uk has lots of information you might find useful, including dress code, etiquette, etc.
