Help me here... after 2 seasons of show ponies we're new to D's and I'm lost what style to buy or look for
I cant afford bridles for everything, so he has a tatty work bridle but I want to start looking for something for eventually the working hunter class and maybe the odd ridden class
Do I go for cob style or hunter ? Are there certain makes like Fylde etc that I should look out for? The width of the noseband seems to matter to most?
Thank youuuu in advance

I have always bought jeffries bridles you can get different thickness nosebands to suit the cobs head. I bought some fylde reins as they didn't last as long. M welsh c's always need to have bridles made up of pony and cob parts as a standard size never fits. One c has an inch wide noseband the other has an inch an half wide noseband.

A nice Flat cavesson noseband and flat browband, although I like the plaited leather ones too. The Fylde ones are really nice but I've had a Jeffries too. The width of noseband complements the head. If you want to try mine to see what you think gimme a shout. I'm good with bridle styles xx

I like the Fyldes too roxy, but (silly question) would you go for the cob style or the hunter style baring in mind wh is the long term aim ? Might have to try yours Karen Pic of his head, hes got quite a 'pretty' head so I was thinking not too chunky and keep it plain ?

The 2nd picture is gorgeous - LOVE that bridle - do you think the more traditional judges will pull there faces at a stitched noseband on an M+M??

Not a section D, but we use the stitched noseband on our Section A it's a Jerrome from Fylde & often it is complimented. Seen lots on large breeds too, I love them xx

The one on my second photo is same stitching as the Jerome, but they only go up to 1 1/4", which I prefer 1 1/2"

The Jerome nosebands are quite popular but it's down to personal preference. I'm not a big fan of them but I wouldn't expect to be marked down for one.
It's a little the same with plaited browbands. some people prefer plain but I actually like them.
I do however feel if not plain it should be one or the other (either a plaited brow or Jerome nose) not both together. It's a bit much.
Again, personal preference. And the pony pictured above has a beautiful head and would look good in a bin bag!!!!
