Just seen this post on facebook!! What do you think?
"Morning guys ....I've slept through my alarm this morning and don't have time to get to the yard please can someone do my nets ??"
I would NEVER live with myself if I knew my horses was stuck in the stable not fed because I slept through my alarm!! Hail,Rain, wind, snow, blizzards what ever the weather throws at me I always put my horses first.

I have to say, I always leave nets ready incase for any reason I can't get to the stables. Though I wouldn't post on Facebook, I'd contact YO or a fellow livery to pop one in for me!

Me too chalky, the weathers a bit nasty here at the moment so we all cover the possibility of not being able to get up to the yard by having feed/nets and spare buckets of water outside. First up tends to do all though so we're very lucky....benefits of a small yard :0)

I think this depends on circumstances. If it is a shared yard and those that use the yard do eachothers horses then I fail to see the problem.
Just a thought.. why has this been posted under a guest name? I do hope it is not a member trying to stir trouble

i have to say that the only thing this person has asked is to do her nets ,,,, not ,, can she feed my horses,,,,so i really dont see what the problem is,,,, filling a few nets for later , not a big problem i wouldnt have thought

Sounds like they're only human to me. At least they've asked for help. Better than losing your job and not bein able to afford to feed your horses at all

Our yard has a great set of people and we all help each other out whenever needed as does our lovely yard owner ,we have a face book page and anyone stuck needing anything doing just pops a message on and we get it sorted its great to know you can rely on your fellow livery's ,when your late ,ill,at a show and it runs late ,bad weather ect ect .

It doesn't actually say anywhere that the horses are stuck in their stables and not fed...... No one is perfect, im sure at least once in our lives we sleep through the alarm or get delayed and can't get to the yard before work. All I can see here is someone asking for help with their horses. Just another guest talking bo**ocks. So Justarant instead of bad mouthing someone on a public forum why not get off your ar*e and offer to help them

Cayo. I was just going to say the same thing lol. No one at our yard would blink an eye at this unless it was all the time. In fact you'd end up with twenty nets done as everyone would do it without question. I think as long as it works both ways there isn't a problem. At our yard we look after each other and each others horses to the point that a handful of people and YO would muck out and sort all the ponies in for example heavy snow and then tell everyone they didn't need to come ! Mistakes are made - it would seem we are lucky cayo ?

I don't see problem you've slept through alarm going to be late for work seeing if anyone can do your nets to help you not be even later? I would personally always have nets done for mornings but people work differently. Sounds like they aren't on a very big yard where feeds are done for you in the morning so i also take it that people are more than happy to help each other as must have to feed your own..

Mmm I remember posting on FB in the past that my OH was stuck at work (he usually finished early and so did the school run) and could anyone please pick Cerys up and look after her til I got there. I didn't think it was negligent - it was a much quicker way to reach my fellow parents at school, lots of whom work part time, so I never knew who would be there on any day.
Of course, it would have been negligent if I hadn't then followed up to make sure someone responded and was able to pick my daughter up! But the OP doesn't provide the follow up...
