Can anyone recommend quarry or supplier in the north west of England that sells top quality silica sand suitable for riding arenas would like some word of mouth recommendations if possible and also best fibre to add ? the arena is to be used for all round schooling and jumping so needs a bit of spring .Thank you in advance .xxx

Try Manchester Plastics - They are very helpful, their website is helpful too, and they supply lots of different surfaces, despite their name lol!! Very competitive on price too. I would have some rubber in your surface, if you can, I wish I had included a percentage although I have s. sand and fibre, as on its own, it gets deep in dry weather - the wet is great, Good luck!

Agree re rubber, but use the small chips not the big strips of rubber, as having used both the long strips tend to create a trip hazard, as well as not insulating the sand against freezing as much.

We used JJ Ashcrofts for our silica sand, we are super pleased with it, it rides fab. They were very reasonable and very professional too!

Bathgate for the sand, I have carpet fibres (soft track mixed in) works well.
