Wow - cannot believe the low entries and NO entries in Large Int - in our day these classes were wall to wall. If this is a sign of the times maybe the BSPS will look at the age groups - personally would love to be able to do these classes again - bring on the plaiteds!!!! Although of course we wouldn't be able to call them 'Intermediates' maybe veteran riders LOL!!!! What were entries like in the RIHS Heritage classes?

Is this the sign of the times ?? IMO yes - we are only just into March and my ponies deserve a bit of time to be ponies over the winter and are mostly hairy and all muddy and definitely not in show condition. I don't "get" the rising number of winter shows - I have no desire to bath a pony when it is so cold and I do think they need a bit of down time.

Well done to 9b ,the outside rings were wonderful and better than the dark top indoor arenas although would be a worry if raining. Weather was known all week to be good dry weather so big Shame about low entries when normaly so many there and I always think of Hartpury as the start of the serious season.

I think the lack of entries had a lot to do with the judges, not great for a lot of people and they just weren't willing to travel for them. I don't think I'd have taken mine if they were fit and we're only 15 minutes away from Hartpury. Very well run show though, thought it worked far better in the outdoor arenas, the top indoors were always so cramped and buzzy with nowhere for connections to watch from and there was never enough working in. The outdoors felt a lot more relaxed, provided far better viewing and there was plenty of working in.
