Hi all, I'm having a senior moment and can't find the rule I'm looking for anywhere but I know it's printed somewhere!!!!
I have a show pony who was owned (over 2 years ago) by a producer/judge. I don't know the people and they don't know me. They are judging a HOYS qualifier this year. Am I legally able to compete under them??? I'm sure I am and it's just her breeder I can't but like I say I'm having a senior moment.

Any judge who has ever owned or produced a pony can never judge it under BSPS rules rule 477e 2015 rule book. Hope this helps

Thank you. I've seen the 2 year rule in some places but couldn't find anything direct to hand. Guess we won't be doing that show then lol.

Phillipa - your elusive 'two year rule' is also found in BSPS 2015 Rule 477, this time at d).. . .and refers to the Judge having kept any horses or ponies at. . . Livery or Stud.... for the exhibitor or producer since 1st January of the previous year. It pays for the exhibitor to be as vigilant and responsible as you are - and for the Judge to carry the relevant Society's Rule Book in the ring with them at all times so it can be referred to if the need arises. Hopefully there should be sufficient shows / Judges UK-wide to allow avoidance of potential conflicts of interest.

Thanks Caroline. I've had a rather awful week and was cheering myself up by looking which shows to do (did look at Toyal Highland but no SP LR Wualifier and a bit far for a jolly!!!!)
I knew I'd seen something along the lines of 2 years and obviously am fully aware of not showing under the breeder but it was early lol.
Yes lots of other shows we can get to.
