Yesterday some thieving piece of scum got into my ponies’ field and stole my electric fencing. Energiser, battery, posts and tape. What’s more, they opened the gate between the restricted grass paddock where the ponies were and the separate winter field which had been resting and had lots of grass, potentially putting my ponies at risk. Fortunately all the ponies are ok but my 11yo daughter’s normally laid back young gelding, was like a hyperactive kid on blue Smarties when she rode him last night - the effects of suddenly being turned out onto good grass - and he spooked over a jump, unbalancing her and resulting in a tumble. Thankfully nothing worse than a big bruise on her upper leg, but I bet the dirty scumbags didn’t think of the consequences to ponies and children of their actions.
I am not rich. I work d**n hard to earn a decent living, but after paying all the household bills and providing for my daughter’s needs, almost everything I earn goes on the ponies. Every penny is budgeted for during the month. So now, because of some filthy parasite who thinks they can take from others rather than earning for themselves, I will have to spend money earmarked on other things to replace what was mine, and my daughter will have to miss out on some of the fun activities we had planned this month.
So if someone you know suddenly appears with an old green Fenceman energiser, with the plastic missing from its handle, the clip missing from the red connector wire and a rather rickety connection to its earthing stake, a small Yucel 12v battery, a mix of about 2 dozen posts in a random collection of green and white, mainly short but a couple of longer ones, and some obviously pre-used green tape - please ask them where they got it. It was probably from my field
