Anyone have any tips please...
Our mare has always stood perfect in a show but just recently when in classes where there is a foal at foot with another mare, she will not stand still and turns to watch the foal whereever it goes.
Anyone else had this happen, could she be getting broody? Any tips to sort as not ideal in the ring. Thanks in advance. x

Has she had a foal? Once had a mare "pinch" a foal when she was turned out with a mare with a foal at foot. Luckily she was good to catch and no damage done. Once they've had a foal the mothering instinct can be very strong.

She hadn't had a foal but I think something just clicks inside their heads sometimes. She always got wound up at the start of the season when the babies were out and about.

I one had a mare who would not only try to steal other mare's foal, but also calves from cows! She just adored babies.
