I wondered if anyone had any suggestions. I have a horse that pulls his front shoes off when out in the field, and sometimes in work. Have tried over reach boots - different types different makes! Also tried different shoes, been shod by different farriers. No difference. Also loses them if turned out in the school, so it isn't like its the mud etc. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! As I'm starting to go mad! Thanks

Totally feel for you, however a change in farrier stopped this happening for me but unfortunately you have already done this and everything else I could suggest so sorry can't help. Hope you do manage to sort it as I know what a ****** problem it is.

Ask you farrier to put two toe clips on the front shoe and also to have a slight overhang on the back feet.

I feel your pain!
My bot repeatedly stepped out of his right fore - not twist to metal, no damage to hoof and we're talking almost weekly.
Tried everything... two toe clips, one, none, filed off inside (thought he might be stepping in), longer hind toe to slow the through action, O/R boots, tape, blunt hind toes. My farrier even got a second opinion! He had good feet, never did any damage, just stepped out of them - nails were in shoe and just 'slid' out. We were demented!
Interestingly.... this season we have focussed more on fitness (he is very laid back, almost, no def, lazy!). The fitter he has been the less the lazy foot standing seems to happen and the shoes have stayed on.... just a thought

We had the same problem with a big moving novice pony and eventually sorted it with Le Mieux oversized over reach boots (horse size on a 128 pony). He wears them all the time now and hasn't lost a shoe in about 2 months,he was pulling off his near fore pretty much every week. Very frustrating.... Good luck sorting it
