Best feed for a horse with ems? She will be turned out overnight with a muzzle and be fed soaked hay. Just need to know what feed would be best.

Don't forget that if your cob is on a diet, which I am guesing they might be, to deduct the weight of these (dry weight of speedibeet) from daily allowance. You probably also want to include something to get all their vits and minerals in, as you are going to be giving them a bucket feed, a powdered supplement would probably be best as it won't add any calories.

shes at a healthy weight at the mo so no diets,im thinking she may not even need the speedi beet? shes been off the grass for a while but is lami free at the mo and want to keep it that way (fingers crossed). I was looking at the TENs balancer or equimins? I usually feed a pelleted balancer, obviously i am aware she cant have this but haven't a clue what powdered balancers best (and most economical)

Can anyone recommend a powdered balancer that won't break the bank? I've got a few in mind but wouldn't mind some recommendations

You could still use a pelleted balancer if you go for one of the lite options. My EMS mare gets TopSpec Lite or anti-lam and is fine on these.

Mine when I had one had TS AntiLam and one of their alfalfa chaffs - straight alfalfa or alfalfa/oil depending on body condition. On top of soaked hay - I like the protein supplied by alfalfa to help build strong new feet if they've had lami.

My mare has just had lami but has bounced back after 6 weeks of box rest, soaked hay, and she was tested positive for EMS so has topchop lite and anti-lam as her hard feed. She needed to loose a bit of weight but not a massive amount. She's just about the right weight now and sound so she's going out on a lami paddock introducing it slowly to her and starting light exercise.
