Can anyone recommend anywhere that is great for taking horses on holiday within 100 miles of southport? I would need a cottage for 4 plus a dog and two cobs. I have looked on the Internet but haven't got very far with it, wondered if someone could point me in the right direction.
Thanks x

Not sure if it is in your mileage, try Ride Yorkshire. Also lucyspin on here was going to offer riding holiday's , but not sure of her location.

We have just done a group ride at carsington water in derbyshire, the off road ride around the water was really nice, have a look at Hoe Grange holidays they have log cabins and take horses. It will be at your 100 mile limit depending which way you go, but looks good, have fun x

On a similar note then, is there anywhere on the southport coast that takes horses? Tia x

There is a livery yard near me that have a holiday cottage, edge of North Yorkshire moors. Hamley Hagg, Aopleton Le Moors. Name of Feaster. Might be worth a try? Cross country course, miles of hacking,

I saw an ad on FB for this place the other day - accommodation for 6 in a converted double decker bus, in its own private garden with hot tub. There's 2 of them and each has a small paddock to provide accommodation for horses. It's somewhere in Shropshire. Caught my eye as it's a bit different! www.pigeondoor.com/If you want catered accommodation rather than self catering, there's Off The Beaten Track in Cumbria www.offthebeatentrackrides.com/html/welcome.html Not been there myself but several friends have been and had the best holiday ever. I'm hoping to book next year.

Have a look at Rossendale Holiday Cottages - they have a field and cottages able to sleep 6, accommodating with dogs. It is on the Mary Townley Loop, really is fab, went with my welsh d, my daughter and her welsh a and my other half with his mountain bike in May...really is fabulous and reasonably priced...we were out for 7 hours including pub lunch at Cliviger on my favourite day, probs 60 miles from southport xx Or Craven country ride can accommodate horses, I think tents too, but there is a premier inn just down the road and few B and Bs, not had time to do that one yet, done craven ride many times is splendid.

Look at Peers Clough Farm on the net or fb. It is on the Mary Towneley Loop, miles and miles of off road riding. Chris who owns is lovely and the cottage there is beautiful. Enjoy
