Highlands 1st Emperor of Achnacone 2nd Rosebush II Na Dailach 2nd wasn't Rosebush. It was Steph turner on hendie 3rd Yersten of Alltnacailleach Apologies, I was trying to get back numbers as people exited the ring, I must have misread that one.

He did go well Loved the reaction of the person in second place about qualifying - I am not sure it sunk in! Me too, I had a bay roan horse years ago, who was just the absolute best boy, not a show horse by any stretch of the imagination, but such a kind, willing horse and we did everything together from one day events to endurance rides and everything inbetween. He won all sorts of classes and I had him for 17 fabulous years. At the time there were two other bay roans in the same riding club and we often did team events together, now you're lucky to see one bay roan let alone three at the same time. Interesting that last years HOYS NF winner was also a lovely bay roan Marleydenes Shiraz, could this be a second bay roan win this year?? I've never met a bad bay roan and would have another any day. Just love an unusual colour. The March of the Bay Roans begins....good luck to Harveys Magic Moment, lovely pony. Thankyou all for your kind words and it would be a dream come true if he could win hoys ! The little pink pony has done me proud !!

I love roans too and currently have four in the stud - one bay and three chestnuts, although one of the latter belongs to daughter.

From those who were there, be interesting to know your feedback from a showing POV

From a whp point of view the course on offer was very disappointing and not what you would expect from a qualifier, especially the one held by hoys themselves. It was also interesting to see the judge judge the class from outside the ring especially when ponies were then incorrectly marked as clear. On the positive side the gentleman in the collecting ring was lovely and always smiling and it was good to have a drawn order.

I agree that the WHP course was very disappointing. I think if an ordinary qualifier had a course like to hat it would be in danger of loosing their qualifier . A drawn order was good but we only knew about when someone text us on the way up. I do agree that Paul on the collecting ring was lovely as were some of the parking people.

The course was rubbish, too small, nothing challenging, no water tray or something of the sort, which meant there were loadssssss of clears, definatly the worst course Ive jumped in a qual this year.

Also, the whp and shp were opposite ends of the show, and with no tannoy, it was not enjoyable having to run back and forth to see what classes they were on, but, both me and mum were very happy to see that you gave everyone a competitor rosette, which was a nice rosette, and no other qualifiers bother giving everyone a rosette, and the placing rosettes were very nice, which made us feel like out entry fees were actually reflecting what we got, as they were obviously expensive rosettes, thank you

I did email you on Monday and received a reply from Mollie Paling who said she forwarded my email to the equestrian team but to date haven't received a reply. I am more than happy to share it on here but thought I would do it correctly and email you privately first. I am quite disappointed at the behaviour of one of the showing judges who quite clearly did not want to be there. On the other hand it was a privilege to be judged by Ann Hooley!

From those who were there, be interesting to know your feedback from a showing POV I thought the show had a lovely atmosphere, the only thing that spoilt it for me is that rings 4&5 (especially 5) were terrible to ride in, however we appreciated being able to park right next to them, making life a little easier! Would love to come again if the rings were of better quality.

The proposed rings 4&5 were very nice, not sure why they weren't used in the end
Ring 5 made for very interesting spectator viewing, something a bit out of the ordinary but I wouldn't have wanted to run on it with a lead rein pony!
The distance across the showground was a bit of a pain especially if you kept to the official footpaths. Certainly I mised most of the sec A class hauling myself up from the day car park!
The £5 programmes were nice and good value for money
Some seating for spectators would be good even if just straw bales
I thought it was a crying shame that the cuddy line up indoors was done when the jump team were setting up a course, they seemed most reluctant to exit the ring for the line up to come in and left a half completed course and kept putting marker poles down even when they were moved to make room, it was obvious the Cuddy was an inconvenience. The whole course for the next jump class was a complete change to the one in the previous class so there is really no reason the ring couldn't have been cleared better. It made showing look like a very poor relation to the jumping
It would have been good if the early evening champs dress codes were made clearer as some appeared indoors in the gear they wore during the day and others wore evening performance stuff.
The outdoor area for the pre judging of the cuddy looked great - a huge ring and it was a nice championship to watch very much like a big county show
The trade stands could be a bit less 'lifestyle' I went in search of a basic showing product but was unable to find it on any stall
I was horrified at some of the goings on in the junior classes show jumping collecting ring. Screaming parents, kids whipping ponies repeatedly, clashing at the practice jump, purposely riding against the flow of ponies, ponies doing a round only to be jumped over and over again back in the collecting ring - perhaps some supervision is needed to bring it to order a bit?
I did like the indoor ring, it was very 'scaled down Caldene'
I like stoneleigh, I've been to loads of shows there but one of the reasons the big poultry show moved from there was lack of accommodation and that's one thing it simply can't replicate from the convenience of the NEC
Overall as a spectator I had a great day but it seemed painfully obvious that despite the wonderful stewards best efforts (and there really were some fab dedicated people there) that it was a show jumping show with showing tagged on and had it not been for the HOYS qualifiers it would have been very quiet
