Our pony has gone really sore after Blacksmith recently. I have spoken to our Blacksmith and he said it could be because he had to take the toe back quite a bit this time due to the foot growth and weather conditions causing the foot to grow more than usual this time. Anybody got any advice or had this happen to them as we are quite concerned !

This does happen, however next time remind your farrier what happened the last time. What colour hooves does your pony have? White hooves tend to be softer. If you are feeding then you could add a suppliment to improve the condition of his feet. I would not be overly concerned on a one off basis.
