So after being told about HOYS having discussed the possibility of combining shp/sp classes within a few years because of falling numbers. I see the tsr have a question in regards to it in their latest survey.
Is this a sign of changing time for the British riding pony?

I've not seen the TSR question - I think it would be a shame, and actually we are noticing that numbers are starting to improve in our plaiteds

I think they need to up the age limit or remove it on the 15h shp . So many people I know don’t want or need a bigger pony and have perfectly good ones sat at home that they cant ride in the ring, me included. I can’t afford another and don’t want to sell my perfectly good pony, so I just don’t show her!

Also in the NCPA registered classes at all shows & at our POYS final there are no age limits merely "suitable size" for all the plaited classes including WHP (except for specific junior, FR, LR etc)

Why not? Can barely tell them apart these days with so many doing both classes. Oh things have definitely changed. Sign of the times? Maybe.
