ANY IDEA HOW LONG A MARE CAN GO OVER THE 11 MONTHS 5 DAYS AS WE,VE A SEC D MARE GONE OVER 12 MONTHS SHE WAS ONLY COVERED TWICE AND HAD HER SCANNED ON 21 DAYS WE,VE HAD THE VET AS STARTED TO GET WORRIED BUT HE SAID AS LONG AS THEIR BOTH FINE SHE,LL FOAL WHEN READY BUT HAVE NEVER HAD A MARE GO OVER THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE WHAT ABOUT ANYONE ELSE?
I was just wondering the same thing. I have had a mare go 12 months but nothing any longer. At the moment my mare is two weeks late, so we are beginning to wonder if she is in foal at all, even though she was scanned at 8 weeks.
afraid you'll have to wait, it is worrying when its the first time you've had a mare go a year but it happens......and the foal will appear when it and the mare are ready, do seem to be a few hanging on a bit longer this year. Good luck lack of sleep is very trying.
yer definatly getting realley tired now every night going to check just incase she,s very restless tonight and don,t want the other mares near her so hopefully she,ll pop soon or she,s going to pop as she,s hugh
She will foal when ready, leave her be! nature is a wonderful thing as long as you dont interfere!!! she will foal, believe me she will foal, it may be well cooked but it will happen, we had a mare that has gone 12 days over this year, but remember all good things are worth waiting for!! and 'the more you watch, the longer it will take' good luck, and hope its a filly.
I had a mare that went 13 months exactly from the day she was covered. I know the dates were right as it was my own stallion and we only covered her the once. When he was born his ears were bent over with being in there so long, luckily these came straight but he still has a kink in his tail.
