it was a blue lorry. a convector heater was too close to a blanket and set it on fire and then the seats. a little girl was in the front seat of the lorry and shouted out of the window for her daddy. all was fine though and little damage i think. very lucky

133cms
143cms 1 clear
153cms 2 clears
INT 3clears
Looking at the number of clears - bigger fences obviously needed!!!
(Yes I am being ironic.)
Also can someone tell me how a clear in the intermediates came to be 5th?

It was Callum Barnes.. he unfortunatly didnt do a very good show. shame as he did a good round. well done to the winner.. was unsure who it was .. i have never seen it before.

Area 8 member Jo - she only started doing workers this year and jumped the only clear at area 7 to win RI qualifier. Horse has been quite a successful eventer before switching to workers.

133cms 143cms 1 clear 153cms 2 clears INT 3clears Looking at the number of clears - bigger fences obviously needed!!! (Yes I am being ironic.) Also can someone tell me how a clear in the intermediates came to be 5th? theres more clears in the INT then there is normally probz cus, the conditons were so bad the course builders decided 2 leave the height of the fences the same 4 the INT as it was for the 15hh. so INT wasn't a big course compared to tracks like area 7, but it was up to height for all the other sections. xxx Up to height!? It was far from full height even for the other sections, but big enough given the ground conditions. I have rarely seen a Fiona Holton track up to height. it was a lot smaller than the RI and HOYS tracks at warren farm a few weeks back - im sure others would agree. was there not 4 clears in the int? - im sure noble bing was the only pole to beat a clear

Area 7 was enormous but obviously within the rules? The conditions etc should be taken in to account so I can understand it not being completely up to height on Sunday. It sounded like a fun day anyway - has everyone dried out now?

Up to height!? It was far from full height even for the other sections, but big enough given the ground conditions. I have rarely seen a Fiona Holton track up to height. it was a lot smaller than the RI and HOYS tracks at warren farm a few weeks back - im sure others would agree. was there not 4 clears in the int? - im sure noble bing was the only pole to beat a clear no im sure there was 3 clears. well i thort the track was up to height, it caused afew problems even with the best ponies there so it must have been tough!!! fiona holton always builds decent tracks, with big spreads and front bars the same height as back, so i dnt no how u can say it wasnt as big as warren farms ri and hoys cus i certainly think it was... the fact that there was 4 clears in the 15hh at warren farm and only 2 at midland counties, that alone shoul surely tell u summit, and the pony tht won warren farm hoys qualifyer had 2 poles at midland counties... Well, I thought there was 4 - callum was very definetly 5th and only beaten by one person with a pole. earlier in this thread i notice somebody else said there was 4. also, there were 5 clears in the 15hh hoys qual at waren farm, not 4. And i'm afraid assessing the numbers of clears from different shows tells you very little a) because the conditions were completely different and b) because 4 of the 5 clears at warren farm were not at midland counties and the 2 clears at midland counties were not at warren farm (i.e. different animals do different shows)! Height is not the sole determinant of the number of clears - fence height does not necesarily make a 'tough' course as you put it, and this was not the reason behind the midland counties track being 'tough' A varying performance of one animal as you stated is also poor evidence as the animal in question can come out one day and go clear but has off-days where at has 2 or 3 down (which has been the case this year - it went and clear and won at area 1a, yet the next weekend it had 3 down at area 1b, then won again at nps area 5!) I am not in any way slagging off fiona holtons coursebuilding (and i'm not saying that you were saying thats what i had done) - she builds very good tracks, which are often not up to height. Despite this, she doesn't get heaps of clears as you obviously has other tricks up her sleeve. (this links in with the proposed rule change) May i ask if you were at all 3 of the shows afore mentioned? and did you actually jump them? if so, as i did, then you would know for a fact that the fences were smaller at midland counties. One thing that did cause problems, as you mentioned, were the back poles of spreads - they were very definetly not visible even on the back of horse and many ponies subsequently came down on one - at fences 7 and 11 in particular.

well said onthescence there were definately four clears as we were in the class and were 3rd. Such a shame that Rockstar decided to feel good at the wong moment!! poor Callum.
People please get facts right before you comment we too were at Warren Farm and as mentioned previously were totally different ground conditions. WHP is not always about height. We actually enjoyed jumping Midlands County where our horse made mincemeat of the course.

did onthescene even jump clear at midland counties, as its funny how people are sayin a course is small or not v gd, wen they didn't even manage 2 jump clear themselves, i suppose that shows u the standered of ur horse/ u as a rider if u cnt jump clear around a course u describe as not even up 2 height, gd luck nxt yr if they do put the fences up 10cm, thats all i can say.

I don't see what the problem is with my comments about the course - have I actually complained about it? I think not. I said it was small, but big enough considering the ground conditions. The comments I made could have come from someone who won the class, someone who was eliminated, or someone anywhere in between. the only knowledge anyone would gain from knowing how i got on would be who i am. Chatty1's comment about the height increase clearly has know idea who they might be talking to - if u did you would not have made such a ridiculous unfounded comment.
