The reserve was stunning!!!!! I want him! Who is he, I didnt catch his name when they announced the results, thought he should have gone supreme, a lovely type of cob. With all this talk about horses loosing tpye it is very refreshing to see such a stamp of cob.

P. the judge won the he gelding class with a nice young lad who I believe rode him in the junior ridden and won that too.
No wonder he was supreme. Does anyone know who the lad was?

Would have had them the other way around as well. Aimee has Judge going ok though he has years of experience on the chestnut. Go the the Reserve as a future olympia star. Who was it?

Actualy I did hear along the ringside that kate harris has been helping the young girl with the stallion, he is a credit to them, I am jealous......
I didnt mention in my earlier post but it was great to see someone very happy to win, the girl on the cob had a big smile on her face, and couldnt stop patting the pony, and thanked the judges, it makes a change from people who stand champion and hardly break into a smile!

Silly, she told me his name when we were chatting but cant remember it now !! It was something very unpronouncable and Welsh - as said above the prefix was something like "Cwmglae" or similar.
She would have been very happy as it is her own stallion, and they bought him to cover mares and she decided to do some ridden showing with him as well. He has come on so much over the winter, all credit to her.
Lexy.

I spoke to someone on the committee tonight and apparently the photographer let them down at the last minute, but think the person who does their newsletter took some. Results should be on website very soon. the reserve supreme was stunning, from the ringside looked like a lot of discussion between the judges on who to have supreme!!

You are right, there was a lot of discussion in that championship, and they did take their time choosing! I personaly would have had the reserve as supreme, I thought he was very well mannered for a stallion. Thats a shame about the photographer, was it just pictures of the winners that the 'newsletter person' took? will they all be put up on thier website?

I agree there were some lovely ponies in the Supreme, I was chatting with one of the judges after though and they were actually deciding who to have Reserve Supreme between the Section B and the Section D stallion. They had picked the winner straight away.
I would just like to point out one thing as I follow the Welsh a lot, 'the best' you mentioned that you thought the D stallion was a cut above Judge in type, well how can this be when the Judge has won the royal welsh??? He may not be YOUR TYPE but we mustn't get this confused with opinion. Its good to have our own opinion but lets not mix up our personal type of D, with a true to type section D. I think they are both good types of Section D and I would happily have either, I mean lets face it if you were looking at the class I was they aren't dis-similar in type are they, both big and chunky boys with lots of bone and prescence.
Also conformation comes into it, have you looked at both of the D's to see who has blemishes??? This may be how they picked their Supreme Champion???

That is interesting, bethwyn, as I was also talking to one of the judges, and the judge I was talking to said it was between the 2 D's ( one judge is a friend actualy). The stallion had already beaten the other ponies in the Novice championship. It was more a case of putting a novice horse over an open one plain and simple. So I dont know who you were talking to??
I think that the above is a very defensive post on the judges behalf........?? I wonder if if its someone from judges camp, scared of a little competition mabey???
Dont knock the stallion or try to suggest it has blemishes or confirmation faults and this is why judge took the supreme, as judge is not perfect is he?

Thank you for all your 'kind' comments about my pony Judge, you are all entitled to your opinion and as many of you know I do not need defending.
Maybe you are unaware but I am very good friends with Lisa who rides the stallion and wouldn't mind being beaten by her anyday.
Lala, would you mind PM'ing me and telling me what faults Judge has then if he is not perfect as I would love to know what blemishes he has???
I dont see how you can say that anyone has knocked the stallion in this thread as the only one being knocked is me and my pony.
I think 'Judge's' track record speaks for itself!!!!!!! Maybe you should all think before you come on here slagging people off as it is very hurtful to come on here and read some of the posts.
I would happily take on board any critism if 'you people' were to approach me, but you are all cowards.

Here Here Aimee........well said, there were some good quality animals there, not just one. I think the Judge is stunning and I also liked the stallion, but there was also another that caught my eye, the lovely chestnut stallion ridden by Kate Harris. Imo that is definately one to watch and it went beautifully. Good luck all of you, you are lucky to have such wonferful ponies.
