NURSERY STAKES - marks added up wrong AGAIN. It is disgusting.
Parkfield Freddie was called out 1st, not quite perfect 2nd & northernlight solero 3rd.
When I checked the marks I spotted they were added up wrong & took them into the office. (after taking a photo...) The correct results should be:-
1st Not Quite Perfect 2nd Northernlight Solero 3rd Parkfield Freddie
The top 2 were on equal marks, the 3rd was 1 mark behind.

That must have been very disappointing for the 3rd - human error of course but sad all the same. Did anyone by any chance get the marks for the IWH - if so I would appreciate a copy.
Thank you

Wednesday, Chaseford Aspen was placed in the 128 but it didnt win. Can not remember the name of the winner! Shame that all the top pulled ponies misbehaved in each of the Show Pony classes. I spoke to the judges afterwards who were very dissapointed that they couldn't have their favourite ponies win due to their performances. Think the classes were judged very fairly. Well done to all and especially to all the 13.2 jockeys who had a hairy go round!!!!

With regards to the Nursery Stakes marks....not only will this be a disappointment to Parkfield Freddie's jockey - but mostly to Not Quite Perfect's jockey who, like the little girl at the Royal, never got her "moment of glory" (by the way the NS result was still incorrect in H&H results I think!!). Having stewarded on several occasions myself, I know how easy it is to make an error. Perhaps the actual layout of the BSPS mark sheets needs reviewing? There is so little space on them and anything other than perfect weather/light conditions this can encourage errors. We all like a prompt result and prize giving but perhaps a little more time - and treble checking - should be employed at the end of these classes?
Also I feel that any child jumping a clear at such a championship as the RIHS should be invited back in the ring and presented with a clear round rosette. These do not have to be dated (so can be "re-cycled" over a number of years).

Thanks to everyone about the kind remarks for Kouros Maximillion, he had a fab show with top ride marks in the small PBA and 2nd highest ride mark in Small ISRT resulting in 2 x 5th placings, he is now wonderfully produced by Stef and Andrew Collins

Yes and for me the 13.2 winner was the won that the little girl fell off it was going beautifully b ut unfortunatley looked like it slipped at the top end and little jockey come off . Hope shes ok the pony for me was the only one standing out at the time its a real shame it happened.

The jockey that fell of in the the 13.2 is fine thank you, a young pony and jockey needs a little more experience with him, i,am sure they will have there day. Thank you for your comments. Chaseford Alica is Chaseford Aspen full sister.

I was right by the pony when his rider fell off-------------------it wasn't his fault, the pony behind him was bucking like mad and the poor little soul didn't know which way to go to get away from it. The bucking pony was then removed from the ring a few minutes later, as it's poor little rider obviously couldn't cope. It was a shame for both riders. I also really liked the first pony involved.

I try not to post too derogatory remarks (I hope) but I have to comment on the RI Nursery Stakes - what an absolute shambles, and I am gutted for all involved. Why were the marks not double checked?

The mark mix up has happened to us 3 times this season - all to our disadvantage. In one we had already missed the championship by the time the marks were available ... I know it's human error and everyone does there best, but I feel so sorry for the connections concerned, especially the riders - it's everyone's dream and it's awful watching the prizegiving wondering if the result we are all cheering is correct maths.

following on from the ride judge comments during the show, i would just like to say that matthew lawrence rode all the amateur hacks beautifully, and every single one went for him. he was also extremely pleasant to everyone, and it was a pleasure to be in the class. the same comments apply to the two judges of the am riding horses on thursday, Brigit millington, and Terry Chalmers, both very jolly and super professional, another lovely class to be in, even if we were demoted to 2nd!!

Knowing the little girl that fell of in the 13.2sp class very well i can only say how well she is riding this season. Being on a young pony can be hard for anyone even the most experienced of adults. Her day will no doubt come. Well done to her , the pony and all involved.

I think it is just apalling.... and the thing is, it is totally unnecessary. They took their time deliberating over the marks, as it appeared the first 3 were on equal marks so surely these were double checked - you would do it anyway 'just to make sure'. There were 2 stewards and 2 judges who signed the marks sheets - I'm sorry but it's simply not acceptable for any 2 adults to incorrectly add up 4 numbers guaranteed to total no more than 100.

Remember Amateur, not Amateur Home Produced! Those of us that work 5 days a week, have children and no equestrian facilities do not have much choice other than to have a horse in a yard.
