totaly agree OB coukd not have put it better. thank you wornthetshirt, shame it was such a brief hello but the OH said he had a very nice chat with you. Yes, all too brief, but hopefully another time! It was great to see my late friend Dawn's bridle on such a super headed quality pony; as a Welsh lass, she would have been proud.............. We weren't intended to be there at all, but came in to help Pat out at the last minute. Was attempting to gulp down some grub prior to facing the long drive home, when your lovely OH came over to the car! God knows what he must have thought! One point which has already been made, - dog poo....... out of all the shows we've been to this season, we've never seen so much of it around as at RL. Unnacceptable, with so many children present. And we have a dog, so I'm not being doggist.

This show is absolutley appaling ! 1) totally agree the commentator sounded drunk and kept mumbiling into the mic and getting numbers mixed up ! 2) Timimg again running at least an hour and 20 mins sat night and sunday night supreme was meant to go in at 9 and didnt go in until 11.10pm there was lead rein and first ridden jockeys in there which probabaly needed to get up for school. They should have made sure after saturday nights evening performances manic timing that sunday should have been run more smoothly! 3) A pony in the hunter ponies was reserve come through on a third and didnt turn up to its hunter pony prelim , yet still come in for its evening performance and manged to get reserve ! How? when it wasn't prelim judged against the others for the championship and was third in its class !VERY STRANGE! 4) People put time and effort going into this evening performance and getting the ponies ready just to trot up one long side and then line up if your not placed you just leave once the results have been called. So some of them ponies waited around in the cold weather for one trot. At least give them a go round!! 5) The ladys who was organising the competitors outside for the evening on Saturday clearing the way etc. Was screaming at the top of her voice move and going on about health & safety which is fair enough ponies were coming out, but she was doing this while bouncing a baby in one hand and having a f*g in the other standing in the doorway. Im sure she was very health & safety bouncing a child around in front of the main ring entrance! VERY CLEVER ! 6) Supreme of show reared when entering the ring! and whenn crowd screamed and clapped for reserves etc it continued to rear and scoot around. Which is fair enough if its excited but not supreme pony behaviour. If it rears surely its should have been dropped! 7) Some of the judges were not even on panels and couldnt tell simple confirmation . Awful show was far better run by angie allison !! HAHAH GUESTS AT IT AGAIN .... as the you are talking about my horse, supreme of the show on a 4 year old in his first evening performance , without ear plugs , also people kicking on the side of the arena i would of said he done quite well , and thats the point he lifted his front feet of the ground a few inches like you say OUTSIDE the ring!!! i take it you did not watch the evening friday when he went champion hunter and stood like a rock while the other were flying around next door. THANKS TO ALL THE POSITVE COMMENTS ABOUT THE SUPREME HORSE am very happy as have only had him a week Did your horse compete as a 3 year old last year then? If he is only 4 now if you post on here you need to state facts! Ear plugs mmmmmmmmm Im not saying he is not a nice horse ;D well u know...........

Im not getting into a slagging match here Everyone knows that the horses age starts on the 1st of Jan so he competes as a 5 year old this year. It can seem misleading that he is 4 and as I know the horse and know he competed last year and went indoors in the evening! as a 4 year old. Good luck with him he is a nice horse.

Surprise, surprise the guests are back causing trouble !!!! At the end of the day the horse won, people have been on here saying he deserved it, how can you still dispute it, and really who cares what he did last year ? Jealousy is not a nice thing

When I start my novice off next year I won't be looking at the results thread (that's counting my chickens thinking I'm going to do well LOL) because it's just not worth worrying about what other people have to say, at the end of the day the show was last weekend - it is now Wednesday, some people need to move on!!!!

I thought the hunter champion was an outstanding horse but i do think it is a little naughty telling people and judges that he is only 4 when he is in his 5th year and should be classed as a 5yro. Only my opinion. Well done Halfpass - (Carla and Mowgli xx)

I have copied this from the other post i posted on as its too long to type out again.
I've been to this show for the last 3 years now and have always enjoyed it but i have to say that this year i was slightly disappointed.
The horse that fell on friday night was with us. He appears to be ok, has a few cuts and grazes but he got off very lightly as both horse and rider could've been seriously injured if not killed. The rider is very sore and bruised but again very lucky to not have more injuries.
We would like to thank everyone who helped drag him closer to the rubber matting so he could get a grip to get back to his feet because without you things would've been alot worse.
I would just also like to set the record striaght as to how the accident happened as we have heard several different things flying around. The horse was not messing around whilst waiting to go in the ring, he simply moved a back leg which went onto the highly polished floor which caused him to fall. The light man did not shine the spotlight in his eyes as the spotlight was on me as i was going down the long side on my horse at the time. The poo-picking man did not spook him, he was no where near at the time. All of this has been caught on video, one minute he's there, next minute he's gone. No messing around or anything.
The fact of the matter is, is that east of england should have provided a solid barrier on the walk way into the arena or if they didnt want to do this then they should have put a carpet down all around the exposed polished floor around the arena. Another member of our team fell and hit her head on the slippy floor on sunday night and had to be seen by the paramedics. The polished floor is a clear health and safety issue which most certainly needs to be looked at for any future events. They fully carpet it for dog shows there so why not for a horse show i may ask?.
When we arrived Betsy and her team were more than helpful, however when this incident happened the helpfulness soon disappeared and all blame was tried to be put onto the show organisers. The way she spoke to us on monday before we left after trying to get some details as to who to contact regarding the accident was appalling. It was a case of more than happy to help when everything is going their way but when its not they dont want to know. I do have to say that the royal london team were very helpful though so thank you for that.
We found that lighting at the back of the exec arena was a huge problem, the fact that there were lights all along the building and EOE would not turn them on at the request of RL was a disgrace. Finally on the sunday after an awful lot of complaints, EOE turned the lights on, just 2 nights too late! Didnt think it was appropriate to do pre-judging in the dark at the back of the exec arena, im sure alot of horses/ponies were very cautious about trotting in the pitch black as mine was.
There needs to be some sort of surface or matting out on the concrete because the speed that the winners come out of the arena at, im surprised there wasnt an accident.
I understand that it is hard to get judges but when the same judge judges 3 different types of class, it becomes a bit of a joke. We all pay good entry fee's and we all expect to be judged fairly and by judges who know something about the class they are judging. I withdrew out of a class because the judge clearly didnt know what type of class they were judging having already been judged by them in the ridden section of the type of class, and in 2 other totally different types of class. I entered 9 classes over the 3 days and i only went under 2 judges when there were 4 different ones advertised and this was in 4 different types of class. I know this happened to several other people to so i was not alone with this.
I must say though i was judge by a lovely lady who made it an absolute pleasure to be in the class, it was such a nice change so thank you.
All 3 members of our team had a very sucessful show, all winning classes and some other very good results & getting into evening championships, so none of my comments are said out of bitterness before anyone thinks that.
In general we had a good time, although im afraid to say i think alot of it was down to our company, but still, had good results and a good time.
Based on this year's show and experience, not sure if we'll be going next year, we do love this show but have been left very disillusioned by the EOE staff. As i have said previously, i love this show and have done for the past 2 years so nothing against the organisers at all.
Once again, thank you to all those who helped rescue our fallen horse, it was very much appreciated.
Ps. Great video, im in it at around 7mins!

Dizzydora i was the person in the stable next to you with the 13.2 bay pony. I am please to hear you and your pony are ok.
I agree about the lighting at the back and around the arena and feel this was a major issue. I again have supported RL for the past few years and have always enjoyed it but feel that this year there were some major issues. I Hope RL will read all the comments and take them into account when planning nexts years event as it would be ashame if this show was to go downhill as it could be made into a fantastic show for everyone to enjoy.

Off topic I know, but I don't think it's that people didn't bit*h before the internet, it still happened but now it's down in black and white for everyone to read, so it's a bit more in the open instead of being done behind backs. At least now people have the opportunity to set the record straight though.

Havnt been on here recently and seems like ive opened a can of worms about the supreme horse!
I was intending your horse was not nice denzil its actually infact a lovely horse and it may have stood like a rock on friday night but sunday is a different day! All i was trying to put across was how can you have a horse supreme when its rearing when people are clapping when the reserves are getting called forward? I can totally understand its a young horse and there entitled to be a bit fresh its all new to them !
In my opinion i wouldnt have has a horse that was rearing supreme the minute it started playing up i would have dropped it, but thats just my opinion and evryones entitled to one!
It was nothing nasty aimed towards the horse as his is lovely and im sure you will knock up many more championships while you have him. I just dont think its fair when reserves or reserves stand there and the naughty one still gets it, but thasts just my opinion dont take it to heart!
Good luck with the horse in the future!
