We thoroughly enjoyed last years Prestige Equine, we even sponsored to give something back to a wonderful new show. I know I'll loose lots of karmas and probably be blacklisted, but I'm about to upset the apple cart. I think the organisers should be aware of the negative feedback from yesterday, Hannah and Scott are wonderful and work tirelessly to make this show a success, but their judge choices maybe the undoing of this fabulous show. sorry but i think this comment was uncalled for i for one think the judges did an excellent job it was a long day and they stayed cheerful all the way through i can understyand what your saying about grass route competitors continueing to support ,but too infer that the judges were to blame that some producers were well placed isnt fair at all all the winners were very well deserved producers or not the judges put up what they thought were the best in their oppion and it dosent have to be everyones opion does it or there would be no point at all to showing as same ones would win at every show the judges did a great job well done

OK now I'm going to have a moan, and surprise surprise it's not going to be about judges my moan is about COMPETITORS. I would like to start off by thanking Hannah, Scott and all their team for putting on a wonderful show for everyone, they all worked tirelessly all day with happy smiles for everyone under sometimes difficult situations so to them a great big damely THANK YOU. Now for the MOAN when every competitor enter the show ground we were all handed a leaflet at the main gate giving you a list of rules and regulations from Aintree, such as no mucking out of horseboxes and to take your rubbish home with you or use the bins provide (of which there were many), not much to ask you would think, how wrong you would be. We were one of the last to leave and the car park was left in an appalling mess, rubbish, piles of waste from lorries and trailers, the grass verge at the side of the race course had taken on the resemblance of a ploughed field, I have to say I was ashamed to be associated with the showing fraternity. The upshot of this is that the Organizers have been billed for all this mess by Aintree for the clean up cost which will run into many Thousands of pounds. You can understand why Shows are closing if this is the gratitude that they receive for giving US a day of fun. So to those who are guilty (they know who they are) SHAME ON YOU.

I totally agree with what you are saying ... would people treat their own yards/homes in such a manner?
I must also add that we arrived around 12.30pm and there was nobody manning the entrance and we were not given any leaflet, altho common sense prevails and we would not need a leaflet to tell us not to leave waste and rubbish on the showground .... secondly, why dont people clear their left-over dinner/drinks rubbish from the tables and put it in the bins provided? lastly, the ladies toilets were not left in a mess altho the bins were overflowing and could have done with emptying i pity the organisers having to clear up outside and/or being lumbered with a hefty clear-up bill ... perhaps a small amount could be added to entry fees to cover for this in future or provide a patrol of the parking area asking people to clear up around their horseboxes or face a penalty?!

I think the organisers should be aware of the negative feedback from yesterday, Hannah and Scott are wonderful and work tirelessly to make this show a success, but their judge choices maybe the undoing of this fabulous show. Please remember that when the qualifiers are being held later in the year for RIHS and HOYS etc your grass roots competitors become your main clients and not producers. I agree to a certain point but unfortunately if you offer such a cash prize you are going to attract the producers of the showing world (and who can blame them), I dont think the judges were always biased in their placings it was just that the producers had the best horses/ponies on the day (at the end of the day thats what they are paid to do), this show was obviously not meant for the grass route shower. I thought it was a well run show, with lovely rosettes (and yes I came away with one, and am not a producer), the collecting ring steward had the patience of a saint whilst so many competitors were very rude to him. I wasnt given a leaflet on arrival in the car park, but then I used my common sense and took my rubbish home with me, my only critisism was being one of the first competitors to arrive in the morning that staff had not gritted the path from the car park down to the arena, it was like a death trap Well done to the Prestige team, not sure I will attend anymore shows to compete though as I am not a producer, but may well go along to watch to pick up some tricks of the trade ;D

We didn't go but, many shows are having this same problem of litter. It's a shame on the people who DO pick up their rubbish and Do keep the showground tidy. Well done to everyone who went and to Hannah and Scott, will defo be at your show in April. x

i would like to send a very heartfelt thankyou to hannah scott ryan and my steward for the day laura, it was an absolute pleasure to come and judge for you yesterday. you all looked after us so very well .we had some really lovely ponies throughout the day and i applaud all the competitors for having their ponies looking so very well in spite of the horrendous weather that we have been having recently.i hope your move to southview is successful ( i do think that you need bigger rings) and i wish you every success for the future. xxxx p s the lemon possett was divine!!!!
