Does anyone know who was second to the judge? That was very nce too. Also was sunwillow Jubilee there?? In the photos I prefer him as a stallion. By the looks of the piccies its looks to be Sydenham (sp?) Hebe. The Williams family own her.

SWJ - i think you'll find that Delami Destiny is not an established ridden pony as i believe it is only his 2nd year under saddle himself. Well done - very well deserved Supreme of show.

thanks, Hebe was very nice then!! I would have had judge supreme myself in regards movement and breed standard compared to what else was in the championship.

This is actually his 3rd season undersaddle so positively ancient in today's terms He's won the RIHS & been reserve champ, won bsps champion of champions, qual hoys in 2005 - i call that pretty established! He should be a favourite for a rosette at both finals though, i saw him warming up and he looking stunning

Solo did look lovely but judges show was fantastic and deserved to win a strong contender at the final for sure. He just gets better and better.

I agree with "congratulations" although Delami Destiny was out in 2005 I'm sure he only did stud duties last year and was never ridden, therefore has only really had 1 year in the ring

thanks Dillis - i knew i wasn't wrong when i said that!!! thank you for backing me up on it! it is only his 2nd year under saddle so i wouldn't class him established so i think he deserves our congratulations.

Were there hacks there?! I didn't see any mentioned in the schedule and the Gold ring ran straight from RH to Cobs, before which I thought there were coloureds? Hmmm, I'm probably talking out of my rear end... Don't remember what won the smalls, but The Philanderer took champion in the RHs

If you are comparing Sunwillow Jubilees experience with Delami Destiny I think you could say Destiny is established by comparison as according to Sunwillow Jubilee's owners website this would have been his 2nd outdoor show.

why and who is comparing these ponies anyway?? They are nothing alike ! If Jubilee is not ready for the qualifiers there are plenty of novice classes around!

jubilee is a lovely pony, yes he hasnt got much expirence, and may need to mature abit more IMO but i think once hes got them he will make a nice ridden pony, rebecca works really hard with him. why should 4 yr old M&Ms be told their too novicey for HOYS qualifyers? yet you see loads of 4 yr old show ponies?

It is a know fact thoroughbreds mature a lot quicker than the natives.
I'm not saying you cant show a four year old native, you do what you like, but in my personal opinion when you have a stunning pony you should give them time as they will only get better after maturity mentally and physically. You should give them the best possible chance of winning. If you show a Novice in Hoys qualifiers too early when they are a little green they will be down the line even if they are an exceptional pony so why have everyone see it not winning wait and bring it out when it is ready to sweep the board!!!

Actually Jubilee is a 5 yr old and was broken over this last winter, and Destiny first came out under saddle as a 6 yr old so whats a year between friends They are both very nice but slightly different types, both very correct though - Jubilee is a bigger mover with alot of bone, Destiny is very typy though both good examples of the classic old fashioned welsh mountain pony. As for age - what is so shocking about a 5 yr old doing HOYS qualifiers!? - Wasn't Pittybeck Prince Charming a 5 yr old when he won Olympia last year?

Look under the tail and watch the hind movement of the A's competing. Alot are weak through their hocks, are going "out the front door" and not driving through from behind.

i don't think that it is the age of the ponies that is necessarily in question, more the lack of experience of Jubilee. In no way did the pony go as an "open" pony at this show, hence it was at the bottom end of the line. Destiny is in his second season although only lightly contested in relation to most open ponies , but really sat up and went to outshine all the others on the day. I would have to disagree that jubilee is a better mover too but everyone is entitled to their preferences.

I can't believe everyone saying how well Destiny went - I watched the class and right in front of the judges on the go round - he took off in canter and both judges turned and watched him - Katy didn't get him back until he had gone round the corner. Couldn't believe it when the two judges pulled him in first. I was standing at the front of the ring and am sure I couldn't have been the only person who saw this!

Eh? i was watching the class too and saw destiny have a slight hiccup in front of the judges when ask to trot on. it was hardly anything criminal! after that he behaved impecably from what i saw. the reason he was pulled in top was because there was nothing else to touch him in that class!!

I have to say that I don't understand why the conversation has centred round one pony so much. I wasn't there but by all accounts, it seems that this is a relatively novice pony-surely we can forgive mistakes? At the end of the day, it is the judge who is rewarding a pony who doesn't go perfectly by pulling it in.
Please remember to bear in mind when you post how you might feel if it was your pony that someone else was saying these things about.
