Got new photos of ponies in 1970's - (and lots of the old BSPS yearbooks) but what are the rules on copyright etc -?? Also bit of a dinosaur and don't know how to put them on.

Oh no just found this so forgot the ironing. This brings back so many memories as I showed against many of the ponies from the 70's and stood 3rd to Holly and Heiress at the Highland which I was very proud of although their mid blowing shows were very off putting ( in the best possible way). Ponies then did have more bone and more relaxed head carriages but we schooled them the old fashioned way and took longer rather than rushing them into the ring. My ponies also did PC and xc to keep them interested and they had a holiday from shows October to April as there weren't any indoor shows. I love this thread please keep it going - I'm off to find the old BSPS year books to see who else I can find.

Wow....haven't been on here for years, but what a fantastic thread...sooo many memories. I have ridden many of the ponies mentioned on here in the 80's (including Ocean So Fair, Nantcol Anwyl etc...) - more as a stable jockey than in the showring, but so lovely. Another of my favourites that hasn't been mentioned was Twylands Fidelio (aka Fidget).

Shilstone Rocks D Day was broken by me and was a well known performance Dartmoor, he was also leading sire at the time of his death.

Well just spent a very nostalgic couple of hours - having been unpacking some old boxes from when house knocked down I found a DVD a friend compiled for me, from my very dodgy video skills, many years ago when Chloe came off show ponies of her years riding for Team Jago. Starts with her in the 'infamous' wig on Nuthurst WhoDunnit as a novice - his first supreme championship under the late, great Michael Sharpley then reserve to Rhos Elegance so lots of highlights of some great ponies. The dreaded year they did the HOYS Semi-finals and he blew it in the semis! A very young Sam Roberts in the shots too on Cringle Laughter. On to some wonderful memories of Langage Springtime 14.2 2nd at RIHS to the great Calder Impressionist - still sents a shiver up my spine watching Sybil gallop! Best bits are all the pairs classes - what fun they were and I do think we became experts!! 2nd and 1st RIHS - 1st 2 years in a row at BSPS and the best one of all PUK - 45 pairs in the plaited class and another 40 odd in the natives and Chloe and her best friends sister Clemmie Lagarde went Champion with Dunnit and Champlers Little Lord. Wow those were the glory days at Peterborough! If I can get some pics of the video I will try and post some. Has made me very weepy over those beautiful show ponies - gosh I do miss them!

I loved Ocean So Fair!!! as well as Arden Vol Au Vont of Creden,Cusop Heiress,Groundhills Amazing Grace,Lechlade Violet,Chirk Cavier,Serendignette and of course the pink pony Me too. And Blagdon Gaytime, Runnings Park Hill Star and the pink pony's arch rival Groundhills Mannequin. I preferred the Gunnerby pony but, being a northern girl, liked to see Mannequin do well too but I remember well the huge rivalry between the two camps who had those two back then ;D Oakley Bubbling Simone was another favourite of mine too. I worked at Oakley Stud for the late Mrs COLLEGE, and took care of Oakley Bubbling Spring., also Creden Pony Stud in the late 70's.
