Dublin River Boots " do not do what it says on the tin "!!! , they are called river boots and you are supposed to be able to walk through a river in them .... well we have a mini lake in our field due to all the recent rain, and a couple of the horses wanted me to go and retreive them and refused to walk through unless led through ..the dublin river boots left me with soggy socks and we are only talking a mini lake here..ie rather large puddle...not river The hunters again I had a pair that lasted years and years...and have had about 3 pairs over last few winters that bit the dust after one winter.... the best wellies I ever possessed apart from the old type hunters were a pair of dunlop wellies that my Mum paid £7 for .... still going strong after years of use...they are my reserve boots for when current pair of dublins or hunters springs a leak !

The exact same thing happened to us, one night, my daughters foot got stuck in it and I had to cut it off her foot with scissors! £150 cut into pieces and into the bin?!

I bought a pair of RBs on June 24th at the Hickstead meet. They started leaking about a month ago so I emailed Dublin. Their reply told me the responsibility lies with the trader who I bought them from. It is up to me to contact them, send them back and await a reply. Its as if Dublin have nothing to do with replacing them.

So.. i emailed Dublin about 2 weeks ago now, finally have a reply!! Here is what they have to say ...... I am sorry to hear that you have been disappointed with the purchase of your Dublin River boots and your boots you received as a gift.
We would normally ask that you take your boots back to the stockist that you purchased them from. This is due to the stockist being your legal point of contract and under consumer law this will mean that you have more legal rights and options.
On this occasion we are prepared to arrange a collection direct from you, a collection of your second pair and we will assess the boots on the understanding that if no manufacturing fault found we will return the boots, on the other hand if we find a fault we will replace the boots for you subject to stock.
Can you please forward a collection address where the boots can be collected between the hours of 9-5 a telephone number and a convenient collection date.
We take our customer feedback very seriously and will pass your comments on to our Product Development team for them to investigate.
Thank you for taking the time and letting us know of your experiences with our products.

Yep, reporting a similar problem. Left it to late to change, but won't be buying another pair after reading this thread! Actually, some Dublin jod boots were fairly crap too now I think about it, def not suitable for purpose.

Sorry about the slow reply guys! Anyone wanting contact details for dublin, feel free to pm me and ill send it through! The other day I was gretted at my front door by a man holding a very large parcel!! I opened it to find a brand new pair of boots! Addressed me to! But no letter enclosed, or any details of the problems they found, so I have emailed the person I was dealing with, saying thank you very much for sending me a new pair of boot, but would love to know the out come of their findings! A week on I still haven't heard a d*cky bird!! So I shall wait and wait!! I did included a covering letter when I sent my wrecked pair of boots away, letting them know that I would never bu anythingy anything from them again, and will not recommened them either! I am very dissapoitnted in their customer services! Not even an apology??

i work for a tack shop and we sold hundreds of pairs of these both in the shop and on the interent only to find nearly all off them come back because of the lining going. when we contacted weatherbeeta they said it was a faulty batch and to send all the faulty boots back to them and they would replace them, so we did. the next batch had the exact same lining problem so we sent them all back in the end as we couldnt keep up with the returns !! but have to say we have had no trouble with the pinnical boots so i think its just river boots but you would think with the amount of complaints they are getting they would do something about it !

I have the Ariat Windermere boots they're great, and priced around £150 I think. They're waterproof and a really good quality.

jessiica- How long did you have yours before they started to leak/lining come out etc? I've had mine for 4 months, not used any treatment on them & not had a single problem with them.

Hannah my sister had a pair for a year and they were fine too, but she just didn't delve into any deep mud or deep water with them, but she's got a pair of the Ariat ones now.

i think having a pair of boot for a year and them then breaking still isnt acceptable! just purely due to them cost £130, i would expect them to last alot longer than that!!
